Songs You Need

Each week, The iMullar staff rounds up the songs we cannot stop playing in The Weekly, and we’re calling all lovers of music to enjoy them with us. This week we have Queen Drie, Joey B, KiDi, Sarkodie, Adekunle Gold, Boye ‘The Genius’, Terri, Nyashinski, E Kelly, and Bryann making up our list for the ten songs you need in your life in no special order available on Apple Music.

1. Queen Drie – “Mama”

Queen Drie’s new song, “Mama”, released on Mother’s Day, is her ode of appreciation to her sweet mother and Black mothers all over the world. Check it here, and be sure to add it to your playlists.

2. Joey B feat. Ko-Jo Cue – “Hard Knocks” (Prod. by Classick)

Lava Feels, is Joey B’s new project that contains a fiery collection of nine songs. From the first track, “Lava Feels” to the last bop, “Too Hot”, each song has its own level of heated vibes that we recommend everyone gets hip to. If we had to choose a favorite song on the project, it would be “Hard Knocks”, featuring Ko-Jo Cue. Listen here.

3. KiDi – “Say Cheese” (Prod. by KaySo)

The Gyaldem Suga created magic on his new EP, “Blue”. Its a perfect blend of highlife rhythms and mellow R&B vibes that came together on an exciting 5-track project. The first track, “Say Cheese” exceptionally caught our attention; and its homemade visuals are stunning. View it here.

4. Sarkodie feat. Efya  – “Overload 1” (Prod. by MOG Beatz)

From “I’m in Love With You” to “Saara”, Sarkodie and Efya have proven that they are a  lovely collaborative duo. They are back with their lastest creation, “Overload 1”, Enjoy it here.

5. Adekunle Gold – “Something Different” (Prod. by Blaise Beatz)

We can always count on Adekunle Gold to come through with the beautiful, love-infused songs. His latest release is a masterful piece. “Something different” is truly something else.

6. Boye ‘The Genius’ featuring Skillz 8Figure & Oladapo – “On Di Low”(Prod. by Boye ‘The Genius’)

We have recently added this jam from Boye ‘The Genius’ featuring Skillz 8Figure and Oladapo to our summer playlists. They created a reliably-solid song that needs to be added to your playlists as well. “On Di Low” is available on all music streaming platforms, be sure to cop it.

7. Terri – “Ojoro” (Prod. by Sarz)

Terri’s “Ojoro” is currently one of the hottest Afrobeat songs out. Its infectious vibe will have you repeating the track over and over again. Add it to your appropriate Afrobeat playlist and jam!

8. Nyashinski – “Flowers”

Kenyan lyricsist, Nyashinski used his recent album, “Lucky You”, to make his mark with a melodic solo offering. Although the project contains no features, Nyashinski’s sole presence is enough. From the onset, he engages his listeners and ends the album with the perfect song, “Flowers”. The harmonies on “Flowers” alone will have you fall in love with the track; enjoy.
