On Rotation: Songs You Need In Your Life This Week

Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.

1. Loatinover Pounds – 123 Block Myself ft. Berry Jive

“Pray For Pitori” is such a masterfully made album that you discover different gems anytime you listen to it again. “123 Block Myself” is the current favourite.

2. Cheikh Ibra Fam – Xam Xam

This writer loves to dance and any track that moves me to my feet in the first 15 seconds becomes an immediate favourite. Cheikh Ibra Fam flexes his vocal prowess on this track, showcases different ranges throughout the song. The harmonies and melodies calms you while the beat sweeps you off your feet.

3. Joy Crookes ft. Kano – Mathematics

“Mathematics” is about the pain and anguish that comes with letting go and moving on from someone you loved deeply. Joy and Kano sing from their respective perspectives on how it feels to lose the one that once made your world happier.

4. Belo Salo – my WRLD

Melodic rap flow on a trap beat? Sign me up! Belo Salo switches between melodic rap to hard hitting flows easily with emotive vocals that make you just want to sing along. Even on your first listen.

5. Sevana – Need Me

Sevana’s vocals are just a dream. A reggae beat with Sevana’s heartwarming vocals drives the message to the listener. Sevana reiterates to whoever it may concern, that all that they need to get her in their presence, no matter where, is just a call.

6. Ezra Collective ft. Sasha Keable – Body Language (En La Carretera)

This record is a sonic equivalence to vacationing at an exotic tropical location. The horns and drums along with Sasha Keable’s vocals are just pleasing to ears. The horn solo before Sasha harmonizes half way through the song is my favourite part of the song. A beautifully well-produced song.

7. Dikoo – Lungu Lungu

Dikoo expresses through this record, his navigation through this jungle we call life; with brutal honesty, a strong will and the determination to overcome whatever may come his way.

8. Girlfriend & Tierra Whack – Bon Voyage

The bass reverberates through your ears as Girlfriend gives a subtle singular flow from the beginning. As the track records the beat switch syncs perfectly with Girlfriend’s flow switch. “Bon Voyage” is a track that keeps giving as it progresses. Tierra Whack is always amazing with her verses.

9. MfanaTouchLine & Swervo – Di’kota Tsa Swervo

A very catchy record. The hook is infectious, having you swaying subconsciously even after the track is done playing.

10. Bien Ft Suldaan Seeraar- SAFARI

The vocals from both artists on this particular record hold a bit of spirituality that you makes you just to have a peek into the mindset and the creative process of how they recorded this track. A sonic masterpiece.
