On Rotation: Songs You Need In Your Life This Week

Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.

1. Lusanda & noxz – When You’re Around

Jazz-like productions, with the hi hats and snare drum being the prominent instrumental, with Lusanda’s hypnotic vocals being the focus, one of the smoothest tracks you’d hear today.

2. LADIPOE, Adekunle Gold & Kel-P – EKWE

The leader of the Revival recruits Adekunle Gold an Kel-P on this vibrant Afrobets track, from Adekunle Gold’s melodies on the chorus, Kel-P’s verse to LADIPOE’s rhymes, this is a track for the dance floor.

3. Keblack – Mood

The title is spot on because this record is a whole mood. If you are a chronic ousider or an introvert trying to break routine, this is the record is one you play on Fridays after work to set the tone and mood (pun intended) for the rest of the weekend.

4. Døku – Fi Mi Le

The soft rock song follows the need to be patient with love. The chorus, sung in Yoruba, loosely translates to “leave me be.” Døku realises that as much as he loves love and wants to be in a relationship, he must be patient and ensure he gets the love he deserves. – Nana Kojo Mula

5. Nkosazana Daughter & Shino Kikai Ft. DJ Khyber – Selimathunzi

This record has everything, the mellow vibes in the beginning, the mid-tempo rhythm halfway through the song and introduction of the log drums. The record will set you on a trip with an upward building momentum that will have you grooving at the end.

6. Kraff Gad – CHANT

If you’re in the mood to get naughty and a need a record to serve as your background music, we’ve got one for you.

7. Blaqbonez, Lekaa Beats ft. Ayo Maff & Bella Shmurda – Louder

With these three artists on a track, you just know, even before you tap the play button, that you’re about to enjoy a hit record.

8. Iyke Parker & LeonardoDDJ Featuring CozyPols & Didi Dj – Fun Pop

Off Iyke Parker and Leonardoddj’s collaborative project, Fun Pop is a fusion of Ghanaian Hiplife and Amapiano, Techno elements where 99 PHACES artist CozyPols flows effortlessly showering words of love and admiration for his love interest. – Nana Kojo Mula

9. Dj Zinhle, Skillz Ft. MK Productions & Section Five – Sorry

One of my weakness in a track is hauntingly sultry vocals with sonically spiritual undertones. A sprinkle of that on any production and I will listen to the track from beginning to end. DJ Zinhle and her featured artists outdid themselves on this record and it’s one that I definitely recommend for all your playlists.

10. BeatzVampire & Olivetheboy – WANTING

When you hear “Craze” on a track and you just know you’re listening to a bop. Olivetheboy is a certified hitmaker, his verse coupled with beatzvampire’s production is a combination that can never go wrong.
