Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.
1. Chronical Deep, Latique, Kabza De Small ft. Leehleza, Ezra – Hayi Baba
This track is your reminder to tap into the Amapiano scene and discover more artists. A groovy song for the extroverts this season.
2. Bridgette Mars ft. Ziza Bafana – Yo Body
A perfect track to test how fluid your dirty whine is before you step out with your partner.
3. Nomcebo Zikode, Fireboy DML, Sofiya Nzau – META
One of the most surprising collaborations to come out this year, and we’re glad it happened. All the artists deliver spectacularly on their verses. Fireboy’s vocals, Nomcebo and Sofiya’s melodies and harmonies come together beautifully to create this masterpiece of a song.
4. Orion Sun – Sweet
Orion’s echoing vocals blends with the haunting bass-lines and drums to produce such a smooth and melodic song, perfect for a long weekend.
5. Suspect 95 ft Roseline Layo – EXPLICATIONS
I can’t emphasize enough how good this song made me feel. Kept me dancing with no care in the world. A dance song that brings you both excitement and healing.
6. Mimi Waterfall feat SELVSSE – Sembe
A smooth and sensual song you can set the mood with, during an alone time with your partner.
7. Jahrel – BODY ON FIRE
I’ve had this song on repeat since I discovered it. It’s rare for a song to keep me in a trance-like groove state. The leading artist, backup vocalists and producer definitely worked out their magic on this single.
8. Sam Opoku – Tippy Toes
Sam Opoku is an artist known and revered for his soulful music and vocals. Anytime, he releases new music, you always expect to have a feel good emotional anthem. This time, he taps into his trap bag and delivers a dope performance outside of his comfort zone.
9. SovT Music – MAAME
Highlife is a sonic documentary of the life of the Ghanaian. SovT Music is one of next generation of emerging artists we can believe in to keep the genre alive.
10. Ms. Thandi – Pages
Sultry vocals, alternative R&B production and a slow pace that runs throughout the song, this track is a must have in all your playlists.
