Black Sherif Delivers A New Anthem ‘Rebel Music’ Ahead of Sophomore Album ‘Iron Boy’

2024 has been a great year for Black Sherif. He has shown consistency in making chart-topping and hit-making songs; such as “9th January” released on his birthday, the moderate-tempo Afrobeats collaboration with Mabel on “Zero”, the robust anthem, “Shut Up”, that has been giving the youth courage to step up to whoever and whatever task that is in their way, and “Kilos Milos”, a soulful HipHop track that had been on the lips of a lot of people even before its release. He’s also had multiple collaborations this year with two of them topping the charts; “Jesus Christ 2” with AratheJay, and “Lomo Lomo” with KiDi. He topped off his consistent run recently at the Tidal Wave Concert where he gave a very mesmerizing performance, having the crowd at the palm of his hand, dancing, crying, lighting up their flashlights and singing along with him.

Rebel Music” is the latest export from Black Sherif, released via RBA/Empire. The term ”Rebel”, in itself, embodies who Black Sherif is; A Misfit. He’s a non-conforming artist that cannot be put in a box and can deliver masterpieces in a spectrum of genres; be it Hip-Hop, Afrobeats, HighLife or HipLife. In the single, he raps, “When the time comes, and we drop the anthem, obiaa b3da nt3m”, a lyric that shows the confidence that he has in himself as a musician, and the pedigree he’s built into the consistent chart-topping and hit-making artist that he is today.

“I’ve been through it, and I know what it feels like to stand up and fight for your dreams. Rebel Music is for the rebels out there, the ones who refuse to give up and who stay focused no matter the opposition. It’s about pushing forward with strength, passion, and purpose.”

“Rebel Music” is a battle cry. With the current economic landscape and increasing pain and turmoil in the world, the song is to serve as an rallying anthem for anyone who is facing hardships and obstacles to maintain focus, practice discipline, continue to push forward and stay true to their goals and vision. The song highlights the importance of staying authentic to one’s craft while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. In true Black Sherif style, “Rebel Music” is is a fusion of Afrobeats, Trap, Hip hop and highlife produced by Afrolektra with Samsney, Joker Nharnah, Loudaa, and Baba wud earning additional production credit.

Black Sherif has shown that truly he is one of the best hit-making artists of the modern era and he’s not going away anytime soon. This new release, “Rebel Music”, is a precursor to his sophomore album, “Iron Boy” that he has been teasing for the better part of 2024 and and with anticipation, we believe, will come out before the year ends. With “Rebel Music” Setting the tone, the album is expected to explore deeper themes of perseverance, growth, and breaking new frontier, all while maintaining the energy and authenticity that have made Black Sherif a household name.
