Vondee Reimagines 2Pac and Janet Jackson’s Iconic Photoshoot For His New Single “Company”

Vondee, a year apart from his last release, You, comes back with his first single of 2024. Company is a love song about yearning and seeking companionship with the ones we love.

Vondee sings an emotional ballad over a fast-paced Metal-produced beat. The drums echoes his heartbeat as he shamelessly pours his emotions and affections towards his romantic interest. On this vibrant, heart-thumping beat, Vondee’s lyrical prowess is tested as speaks directly to her. His pen bleeds with an unshaken resolve and determination as he strives to establish a connection, a twin flame if you will, with his amour.

With an unparalleled synergy between producer and artist, Metal plays the perfect wingman in this melodrama. He switches the tempo to simulate the growing intensity of Vondee’s heartbeat and emotions as the song progresses. The switch is deliberate in a way to have Vondee invite his beloved to indulge in his passion with the expectation that her heart will resonate with his, in varying frequencies.

In a visualizer, shot by Ashmond Kwesy, accompanying the track, Vondee reimagines the iconic photoshoot between TuPac and Janet Jackson for their 1993 cult-followed film “Poetic Justice”. Just like the very first interaction between the main characters, Vondee is raw and blunt with emotions. He attempts to mirror his love story with the movie’s plot in hopes that he too will get “Lucky”, *pun intended*. Listeners are drawn in by his words as he sings about one of the major staples of human culture – Companionship.
