Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.
1. JiggyYB & PsychoYP – BNB (Brand New Bird)
Both artists bring unique and rapid flows to this vibrant beat to create a great drill track for all the rap heads around the world.
2. Rowlene – don’t let go
This is a Lover Girl anthem as good as it can get. As true to the recurring phrase in the song, Rowlene’s smooth vocals and lyrics drive home the message to her lover not to let go of her and the love they share.
3. Delis – Real Like That
A great introduction to this artist. Delis brings a unique flavor to the music scene with his artistry.
4. $hyli – Toxic Love
Once in a while, we come across partners who become the sole reason for our trust issues in relationships. $hyli speaks of one such situation he currently faces with a partner whose love is as toxic as it gets.
5. NJERI, DECSTER, Ari – Patience
On this vibrant production, the songstress reiterates to her noncommunicative lover her increasing impatience in dealing with their problems.
6. OOSHA – MOTIVATE
Got introduced to OOSHA this past through this song on my Spotify shuffle. A very unique artist whose sound is a little blend of afrobeats, Highlife, and fuji.
7. Straffitti – Personally
Straffitti comes through with an Amapiano groove track for all the partygoers as we head into Summer.
8. Liya – My Skin
Had this song on rotation this weekend and it is fitting that I share it with all of you. Liya speaks on her past experiences while also stately boldly to whoever it concerns how much of a soft lady she currently is. Nothing can phase her anymore.
9. Garey Godson, Kwame Yesu & Atown TSB – Roses
The Ghanaian drill music movement is still going strong today and these three artists are helping contribute to the growth of the genre. This track is definitely one to listen to if you’re a fan of drill music.
10. Stella Mwangi – Talk That Talk
The rap game is still alive on the continent with the resurgence of a lot of female MCs. Stella Mwangi is one of them. Her flow is unique, her bars are as hard as the next one and her recent album is just too good to miss. Her “Talk That Talk” track which is a sample of Will Smith’s “Get Jiggy With It” just shows her versatility on any beat from any era.
On Rotation is your weekly dose of musical geniuses to your library. Our editors update this playlist frequently, so if you see something you like, go ahead and add it to your library.
