Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.
1. Eriq feat. Blasian – GEEKING
This is one of the songs that grow on you and then stay your playlist for a long time. If you are trap fan, then this one is for you.
2. Prince Swanny – Media
The piano chords at the beginning gives you an illusion of a mellow track until the beat, then it’s just vibes till the end of the song. This dancehall tune is every groovist’s wet dream.
3. Malik English – Lucy in The Sky With VVS
The artist on this vibrant production, sings his heart out about finding his dream girl. The nod to the chorus to B.O.B’s “Airplane” is a nice touch.
4. FromJerome – Next Day Delivery
FromJerome’s vocals on this track is just surreal. The production perfectly compliments his tune and gets you fully immersed in the track from start to end.
5. Kojo Trip – Enough
Kojo pours his out and uses his unique flow to deliver his lyrics on the beat. The minimal production work is perfect for Kojo to fully express himself and deliver his message to his listeners.
6. Corby – Man Without A Home
A mellow track, a staple in Corby’s artistry. For the first three minutes, the production is a Capella type where we only hear Corby’s emotion-filled vocals, and then after the 3-min mark, the production builds into a beautiful symphony along with Corby’s repetitive melodies in the background. A beautiful song through and through.
7. Scumie – Shots
Draco released her EP, “Draco” at the beginning of the year. Since I got into it, the single, “Shots” has been on rotation throughout my weekend and I believe you’ll like it too.
8. Que Dj feat. Blue Pappi, Massive Dj and Thobeka – Inte Massive
Que Dj released “We Don’t Play The Same GQOM 2”, a sequel to his 2020 album. The track “Inte Massive” is one of the most infectious tracks on the project. If you’re looking to get into Que Dj and Gqom, then this track serves as a good introduction.
9. Blu & Nottz feat. Shad & Quelle Chris – Marcus Garvey
This is for all the hip-hop heads. The artists all deliver on flows with lyrics expressing their desire to return to the Motherland, Africa.
10. Hermez – Easy
Hermez starts the year off on a good note with “Easy”. A calm and mellow song for all your Easy Sundays and sundowns (pun intended).
