Abuja-based Artist & Producer, Raytheboffin, releases ‘Lifeline’, an infectious groove alongside 3kene and Tim Lyre, as his first single of 2023. Originally hailing from the cooler urban climes of Jos, Raytheboffin is one of the most exciting names coming out of Nigeria’s alté scene. His sound is synonymous with experimentation and innovation.
His recent feature on Suté Iwar’s debut album with THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLE has been an absolute stand-out on that project, and now Ray is readying his fans for an onslaught of new music this year.
‘Lifeline’ is the first single from Ray’s forthcoming EP, Freckles, which sees features from TwelveXII, Yimeeka, gardenotgod, and his Riverays collaborator Iver Rivers.
Lifeline has a 90’s RnB and dancehall vibe with electronic distortions creating a wavy atmosphere. Layered with coarse vocals by Raytheboffin it lives up to its name giving vibes of a song that will revive you after stress or bad news with the allure of Tim lyre’s soothing vocals pulling from where you are to a groovy place.
