Every week, the iMullar staff round up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.
1. Telfar – Ronehi & SGaWD
Summer is upon us and iMullar has the perfect summer jam for the ladies in Ronehi and SGaWD’s Telfar. I see the girls vouging to this one with their Telfar bags hanging from their arms. SGAWD exudes confidence and boldness in her lyrics on the house-inspired beat produced by Ronehi . Ladies, manifest a Telfar bag (if you don’t already have one) with Telfar.
2. Body – Senami
Senami comes through with soft, sultry and seductive vibes on her newly released single Body. Put this song on before a date night to get in the right mood.
3. TOUT VA BIEN – Alonzo feat. Ninho & Naps
The title of this song means Everything is Fine (Thank you Alliance Franćais) and that is the exact theme the song follows. Alonzo sings of how well his life is going and all the nice things he can afford now. Ninho & Naps feature on this track as well.
4. Back Then – Cleo Ice Queen feat The F.A.K.E.
Big Brother Africa alum and rapper, Cleo Ice Queen gives a heartfelt passionate ode to her struggle on this song. The feature from The F.A.K.E. was the icing on a very well-baked cake.
5. 3310 – Focalistic, Mellow & Sleazy & Madumane
Amapiano never dies. Focalistic has another hit on his hands. 3310 begins with an almost silent percussion which crescendos into the customary “aaaatsoo” that drives Amapiano fans wild. This song is as hard as the song it was named after.
6. Caress – Ajebo Hustlers
Ajebo Hustlers keep proving that they are the superstar duo to look out for. Witty banter is the best way to describe the lyrics on this song. Sounds like the words of a retired fuckboy who is trying to show his love interest that all he wants to do is love her and is not in for just the sex.
7. Ride or Die – Kendickson
This love song from Kendickson has a catchy hook and enamouring words. Adoration and awe at the fact that his muse even wants him are the refrain of this track.
8. Like This – Diplo, Serge Ibaka & Gyakie
A NBA player, an American DJ and a Ghanaian afrobeats star are the most unlikely trio you would expect on a song but we are definitely here for it. Gyakie has the handles with the vocals on the amazing Diplo produced beat and with the Serge ibaka assist, this track is nothing but a 3 pointer.
9. Everyday – Atown TSB feat. $pacely, Toyboi & Kofi Mole
Atown recruits three of the best rappers in Ghana at the moment for the opening track on his newly released E.P, We Rage II. $pacely delivers on the hook and Toyboi comes in with fire on the first verse and Kofi Mole gives an incredible second verse which in my opinion was a standout performance on the track.
10. FIRE – Khaid
Khaid is so good that he manages to make fire (literally the name of the song too) with a freestyle. Get up on your feet and dance already. You know you cannot fight it when you listen to this song.
