1. Tiwa Savage – Koroba
“The Queen of Afrobeats” as the New York Time referred to her left us with “I no come this life to suffer, If I follow politician you go hear am for paper, them go call am prostitution. Who no like enjoyment? If money dey for pocket Shebi na national budget o? We go blow am like trumpet e (okay)”. Tiwa Savage knows how to capture our attention and she does it effortlessly, the lyrics above is our favourite pick from her Celia Album, we stan a queen who sends her message loud and clear.
2. Peruzzi – “Lagbaja”
Nigerian singer and song writer Peruzzi came back with a new song after his hiatus titled “Lagbaja”. The Vstix produced song sees the Huncho of Africa talk about some ills and issues happening in his society.
3. Burna Boy – 23
Burna Boy’s “Twice as Tall” is still making waves after a month of its release. The 15-track album took a different turn as compared to his previous albums, fans expected more of what he did on ‘African Giant’ but as an artist, Burna had to evolve to reach a larger market. Regardless of all that, we are still enjoying the album and “23” is our favourite off the project.
4. Boj featuring Davido and Wizkid – Abracadabra
Nigerian alte maestro BOJ of DRB Lasgidi has blessed his fans with a new Afro-Pop single titled “Abracadabra”. Not only is the title of the song fascinating, but the song also features two of Nigeria’s biggest music acts, Davido and Mr Eazi. All artists take turns in their verse to admire a certain woman’s beauty and her body, the song is a feel-good song for anyone who loves good vibes.
5. Yemi Alade – True Love
Nigerian Songstress, Yemi Alade drops her new jam titled “True Love”. In the song, she persuades the DJ to play her a love song that’ll help her forget her sorrows as she describes what true love feels like or what it means to her.
6. Kiienka – Tables Turn
Kiienka’s signature deft rap flows inspired by Atlanta style rap, layered psychedelic beats, and speaker bumping baselines, as well as braggadocio, are all heavily present in his song “Tables Turn”. Kiienka repeatedly boasts of his wins pointing out the ones who said he would fail are now his fans.
7. Dj Tunez – Pami
“Pami” is the kind of song that gets your attention right from the start. Dj Tunez put Wizkid, Adekunle Gold and Omah Lay on one song before the song was released we all knew it would be an instant hit and we predicted right. 8. Fireboy – Tattoo
Fireboy’s writing skill is arguably one of the most outstanding things about his music. The lyrics, his voice and the shizzi production is close to perfection. “Tattoo” is off Fireboy’s recent album ‘Apollo’
9. Dj Cuppy – Jollof On The Jet
The colourful Dj Cuppy took her music career to a different level when she announced the release of her debut album, ‘Original Copy’. “Jollof On The Jet” produced by Killertunes was her first single of the year and the lead song off her album, featured on the song was Mavin Record’s Golden Boy Rema and Rayvanny from Tanzania.
10. Adekunle Gold – Okay
Adekunle’s new energy is chill vibes and positive energy and he transferred this energy to the making of “Okay” track 4 off his Afro Pop Volume 1 Album. Whatever it is, AG baby is reminding us that everything will be okay, as long as you focus on you and the business that pays you, ‘you go dey okay’.
