Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie is a Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur. Hailing from Tema, Sarkodie is known for his flow, lyricism, charisma, and delivery. Sarkodie often raps in his native language Twi and has been able to garner a strong fanbase known as Sark Nation.
Sarkodie has dabbled in a variety of sounds such as rap, hip-hop, hiplife, highlife, and afrobeat. Due to his deliver within various genres, Sarkodie has been dubbed a multifaceted rapper with numerous accolades to his name. Sarkodie was awarded the first BET’s Best International Flow act at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. Sarkodie has also received the Vodafone Ghana Music Award for Artiste of the Decade award. Overall, Sarkodie has received 92 awards with 165 nominations. Within the Ghana Music Awards scheme, Sarkodie has received over 22 nominations.
