Just 3 days into August and the music scene is crowded already. new sounds 8

Almighty Trei – NEVER KNOW

Producer: Yung Demz

Ground up Chale’s Trei comes through with Never Know. The song talks about how he never knew or never thought he will find someone as good and great as his new love, yes once in a while we fall in love with a particular person who seems to make our world complete and that’s exactly what Trei is talking about.

Krymi – TOFFEE ft Darko Vibes

Producer: Kaywa

Krymi features Darko Vibes on his new song Toffee when you hear toffee, the one thing that comes to mind is sugar, sweet and everything nice and the toffee Krymi and Darko are talking about is a girl obviously. Krymi with the love, Darko with the vibes, you know what to expect, nothing but love vibes only.

Burn – WALAAHI ft Kirani Ayat

Producer: Uche B

New school stay winning as Burn features Ayat on the new bop titled Walaahi which means anyway or anyhow (I think) but all Burn is trying to say is that no matter what it takes, anyway, anyhow they are going to make the money, everyone is out there working hard and trying to make it in life so whatever it takes to get the cash everyone must be willing to work extra harder. If you know Ayat, then you know you are in for a jam.

Chief Fred – HIGHER ft Scott Evans & Boidope

Producer: DAY TO DAY BEATZ

For the very first time, we got a gospel submission, yes we go all out for all genres. According to Chief Fred, the theme is that no one has ever fought against God and won. “I also wrote the chorus to depict that you reap what you sow(wu tu edru bɔne ah ebi ka wa nu), do good and you get good, do bad and you get bad(ɛnyɛ obi na ekum Adu)”. So Bediako, our God is battle-ready and with Him, we go Higher. The whole point is to establish a movement for the soldiers of God. Soldiers of the lord, this is our song.

Abonda – DIE FROM YOUR LOVE ft Guilty Beatz

Producer: Guilty Beatz

Love can be tricky, falling in love is one thing, staying in love is another, but have you ever been in love so much that you think you can die from their love, like literally, the feeling is just perfect, everything makes sense but doesn’t make sense at the same time, confusing right? Yes, that’s what Abonda is talking about in his new song Die From Your Love, the song features hits producer Guilty Beatz.

O’bkay – GODSENT ft Twitch

Producer: Keezy & ItzCJ

All girls are GODSENT, no lies, you can ask O’bkay, his new single Godsent features Twitch. The song is an appreciation song to all beautiful girls who are sent from God when someone is sent from God, you won’t even see them coming, they come into your life and make your l life so perfect. If you have found your Godsent lover or you haven’t found the person yet listen to this song just to know who really a Godsent lover is.

Raye – Love Me Again

American pop artist Raye puts her broken heart experience into a  beautiful song called Love Me Again. The song really speaks for itself, the song will hit better if your heart has been broken before, you will understand better what Raye is trying to say in this song. Hearts out to everyone going through a broken heart, allow this song to heal you.

Dani Draco – Lean Wave

Producer: Dani Draco

This is what Dani has to say about Lean Wave “The song started like a joke after Nasir(Hym) told me about a married woman who used heavy codeine mixed with sprite “Lean”.

She kept 40 bottles under her bed until she was caught. It’s all about addiction everyone has theirs, some have money, love, drugs…

We study ourselves more enough to see through that, what one would term a bad seed usually reflects our deepest truths. We just need an escape. This world is so uncomfortable yet beautiful. We paint the picture sonically for you to listen. It’s a dawn of artists like every golden era, all we gotta do is leave the door open for the kids when we step through”.

This should be enough for us to pay proper attention to the new school artists. Lean is available on all streaming platforms, click on the link below to find yours.

 Copta – Aseti ft Magnom

Producer: Foreign Local

New school Hip-hop/rap is what Copta brings to us this week. Whatever your dreams are, whatever your goals are you got to be on your toes to make things work, if you want to see things set, you need to go the extra mile for it. Copta features the badman Magnom on this new jam. Hip-hop lovers this is for you.

Epidemix – Nshorna Shia ft Biqo, Kweysi Chip & Bryan the Mensah

Producer: Epidemix

In as much as the new school artistes have their own different style, most of them do not forget the Ghanaian culture in terms of language, dressing amongst others, a typical example is this song by Epidemix called Nshorna Shia ( Sea Sand), the language was a bit difficult to decode so I sought help from him and this is what he had to say,

Nshorna Shia is an ode to the African woman, describing how strong she is and acknowledging her for choosing us as hers. It goes ahead to throw light on how strong the African woman is in lines like “sticks and stones don’t break her bones” by rapper Kweysi Chip. Bryan the Mensah went on to emphasize how instrumental the African woman is in the lives of her loved ones “you know say if you no dey there nothing a go be legit”. BiQo laces it up with a hook best described as spiritual in Ga in the same light of praising and cherishing the African woman. To talk about sound, the song is enriched with highlife guitar licks and heavy 808’s, a rare fusion. Nshorna Shia is one of many records on the yet be released E.P by Ghanaian producer Epidemix who hosted Bryan The Mensah, Kweysi Chip and BiQo.

Exo – Galavant

Producer: Kpakpo Lee & Bookah

Fast-rising Ghanaian trapper –Exo releases his much anticipated new Tune which features trap lords Kpakpo lee and izzik. The eager awaited song is titled “Galavant ”. New school trap lords coming through with this one, a new wave of trap army are coming, I don’t think we are ready for them, you need your headphones for this one.

Me Drew – Agbelemi ft Dopenation & Incredible Zigi

Producer: DatBeatgod

When creatives come together magic happens. Agbelemi is an uptempo tune that features lynx Entertainment duo Dopenation and dance innovator Incredible Zigi. This is his second single of the year. The term agbelemi is a ga word that simply states give way, put your dancing shoes on, tell everyone to give your way for this one. A new jam for the dance culture.

Toni dada ft Zarion Uti – Candy

Producer: Jaylon

Candy is yet another simple and incredible record from rising star Toni dada who used to go by the name “suede”. Toni has released records like “weekend” which featured psychoYP, made appearances on songs like “know ya” and “B.I.G” by super-producer Jaylon which also features famous Bobson and Damayo who has a close affiliation to likes of Wizkid, Davido, Ceeza Milli amongst many others. Candy proves to be an all-round summertime record with a sweet hook, melodies and catchy lyrics listeners are sure to have stuck in their head all through the summer. He features amazing singer Zarion Uti who hits the nail on the head with a catchy verse. Certainly going to be a summer playlist favourite.

Kobby Keita – THE LUV TAPE

Boys have a nice way of expressing the way they feel when it comes to love, I’ve said this several times and Kobby Keita has only come to prove me right that yes boys fall in love, and they can express it through music. The Luv Tape has 6 tracks from Hennessey through to best friend to Is this Luv all the way to the Isaac Newton Freestyle, his style is very different and I believe strongly that there’s a bigger message to this entire Tape and we hope to find out from him soon, till then listen to The Luv Tape by Kobby Keita on SoundCloud.
