Quarantine and Chill
Quarantine and chill is a term that has become widely popular in many spaces. This phrase originated during the global coronavirus outbreak and seems to be here to stay. Quarantine and chill are seen as an alternative to “Netflix and Chill” where you can choose to engage with people through social media and various platforms while practising social distancing.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that to practice social or physical distancing you must engage in the following:
- Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people
- Do not gather in groups
- Stay out of crowded places and avoid mass gatherings
Here are some fun and creative ways to engage in quarantine and chill:
Have a Virtual Dinner
Order food, set up Houseparty, Zoom, or Facetime, share a toast and have dinner with friends and family virtually.
Travel through Virtual tours
Host a virtual tour to museums, amusement parks, or even various countries utilizing google maps and various virtual tour sites.
Start A Remote Movie Club
Agree on a date to watch a movie, and when the movie is over you join each friend in a video call to discuss the movie. Netflix Party is a great way to execute this idea.
Share Your Talents
Organize and host spaces where you can share your talents. Try Zoom, an online meeting platform, to organize a concert or even a mediation session with friends. Allow your talents to guide you.
Create art outside
Take the time to use the things around you to create art or even utilize sidewalks to create murals.
Bring outside activities inside
Host activities you would normally do outside inside. Start an indoor garden or terrarium. Have a picnic inside or even try camping inside.
