NoteSphere Marks Three Years of Archiving African Culture

In the collective mission to document, preserve, and propel African creativity, every authentic voice adds vital weight to the movement. Lagos-based creative platform NoteSphere is marking its third anniversary this August, celebrating three years of dedicated editorial work across African music, fashion, and culture. Since stepping onto the scene in 2023, NoteSphere has crafted a distinct space centered on depth and intentionality. The team has prioritized long-form, interview-driven storytelling, treating artists, designers, and visionaries as active collaborators in documenting their own narratives. That dedication to the craft has resonated deeply, with the platform scaling to an audience of nearly 120,000 followers and crossing over a billion impressions across social media.

Reflecting on the milestone, NoteSphere Founder Tobi Bankole stated, “Personally, our three-year anniversary has shown how resilient the team has been over the years, and also made me personally appreciate the beauty of growth and consistency. Our editorial voice has evolved through the years of our existence, and we have most importantly moved from amplifying culture online to stamping our legacy in the physical realm.”

That shift into physical community-building came alive through a curated anniversary weekend that seamlessly merged creative education, wellness, and lifestyle. The celebrations kicked off on Friday with an immersive filmmaking workshop led by Akthawicked, continued Saturday with a community 5K run alongside the Patta Running team, and wrapped up on Sunday with a closing cultural mixer featuring local merch, interactive games, food, curated soundscapes, and drinks.

“We’ve done a lot more physical events this year, and we hope to keep that momentum going. I also see us going deeper into doing more things like giving grants in the next couple of years to empower creatives as they create. That’s where we see ourselves, so the culture can expect more greatness from NoteSphere going forward.”

“We have an amazing team, a taste for excellence, and a desire to keep building towards telling more stories, and that’s never going to stop,” said Emmanuel Oke, Co-Founder and Creative Director at NoteSphere.

When independent platforms across Africa build, archive, and elevate our stories, the entire ecosystem wins. NoteSphere is inviting the creative and cultural tastemakers and netizens to keep watching, keep showing up, and keep building alongside it.
