Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.
1. F Jay & Ndine Emma – Fill In The Blanks
First time, I played this track, I envisioned myself being at a rave just dancing in sync with friends and strangers alike, having a good time. A great record to have as a raver and as a DJ.
2. Dorty – Afro Beats Ivoire 3 – Voilà moi!
This is the trilogy of Dorty’s Afro beats Ivoire tracks and I can’t seem to get enough of it. The catchy hook, melodies, back up vocals and fluid production makes this track a must listen. The violin in the chorus is an amazing touch.
3. Likkle Vybz, Vybz Kartel – Lemonade 2.0
A song for the boo’ed up. Hear me out, you and your special someone, indoors, a bottle of wine or vodka(whatever your poison is), and this song on loop. Just a lot of privacy and dutty whining all night long.
4. Jahmiel – Born King
I’m always down for a little lyrical flow over a vibrant dancehall beat. Jahmiel, a versatile artist as he is, always delivers on any production that comes his way. A delight to listen to.
5. Nisha Ts ft. Ninety6 – Madhunamutuna
A track with a chorus so addictive, you subconsciously sing along. Highly recommended for all your listening playlists.
6. HIMRA – BANGER
Never knew I’d enjoy Drill this much in a Francophone language. This track had me subconsciously busting out the “below the knee” dance. Get into it!
7. Maglera Doe Boy, ONDELIVE ft. Blxckie – Ke Hip Hoppo Dog
A track reminiscent of spoken word and slam poetry. No production, just rhymes, metaphors and pure literature. Beautiful wordplay from all artists that would have you giving a standing ovation from wherever you are listening from.
8. DJ 808 ft. Kashcoming & Pheelz – Rora
A track perfect for your pregame playlists. Give this record a listen when you’re about to step outside to set the mood for the rest of the night’s festivities.
9. DEELA, Genio Bambino – Kryptonite
We’re all kryptonite to that special person in our lives and vice versa. With this in mind, DEELA has delivered a track for us to remind ourselves and our loved ones exactly who we are in their lives.
10. LeoStayTrill, Clean Bandit – 2s N 3s
A drill rendition of Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be” by LeoStayTrill was 100% not on my bingo card for 2024 but I love it!
