On Rotation: Songs You Need In Your Life This Week

Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.

1. Manana, Rapsody – See What I See

Manana’s music is always a trip. No matter the pace, whether its, quick-paced, slow-paced or mid-tempo, you are almost guaranteed to live within the picture that he tries to paint with his music.

2. Nikita Kering’ – Tonight

I have this song on repeat for a week now. Something about Nikita just jumping on the beat right from the start just makes this song special. Her entrancing vocals and harmonies give an exceptional sonic experience throughout the song.

3. Yamiko – Blest

Yamiko carves out a unique niche even in the realm of Alternative R&B. Her sound is sonically soothing and her lyrics are direct. You enjoy her storytelling as she beguiles you with her vocals.

4. Lucky Daye, Raye – Paralyzed

Lucky Daye and Raye produce one of the most beautiful A Capella-esque song of 2024. Everything about this song is perfect, from the guitar strings to the vocals to the pacing; everything is masterfully done to produce this sonic masterpiece.

5. Zadok, SaveMilli, Mzizi – STEADY

This was my introduction and I am completely mesmerised by his sound. The vocals, hypnotic, the production, perfectly paced and the lyrics, very relatable. The replay value of this song is so strong you might forget it’s an almost four minute song.

6.JayO, Crayon & Bella Shmurda – Reset

When you hear Magicsticks‘ tag on a song, you are always guaranteed a banger. The Amapiano-themed song is perfect for your road trip or pregame playlists.

7. Noon Dave – FaceCard (Only Me)

A track ideal for when you want to de-stress after a long hard day. A song you sing while staring yourself in the mirror with a bottle of wine in your hand.

8. Kojo Trip – Cruise Control

He recently released a solid project and has been one of the artist keeping the lights on in the Ghanaian music scene. “Cruise Control” is a perfect intro to what the project embodies. Flows so fluid, lyrics very bold and enunciated with laid-back vocals that make you want to it on repeat.

9. Jux – Nisiulizwe

Tanzania’s BongoPiano is a very beautiful sound. Jux makes it shine even more beautiful with this track. His vocals and melodies truly embody the rich culture and sound from East Africa.

10. Fameye, Sarkodie – June July

Fameye and Sarkodie on a track have been some wishlists since their work on D’Black’s “Omega” and it’s safe to say, they didn’t dissappoint. It’s very refreshing hearing Sarkodie flow on Live-Band-type-Highlife beat.
