On Rotation: Songs You Need In Your Life This Week

Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.

1. Baaba J – Sunshine

With a soft, entrancing voice over a melodic production, Baaba J sings her heart out while conveying the message behind the song; embracing acceptance.

2. Sarah Phenom – 10%

Once in a while you come across some artists that at first listen, you just know their songs are going to take up residence in your playlists forever. Sarah is one such artists. This Guiltybeatz-produced song is such a great introduction into her artistry.

3. Wavy The Creator – Star

This is one of the songs you definitely lose yourself in; the type of songs you keep dancing to even when it had already stopped playing. The vocals and production perfectly blend to make this track a masterpiece.

4. Glassface & Odunsi (The Engine) – Mindreader

This song is a strong indication that we need more songs from this duo; Hopefully we get ones with longer durations than this one.

5. J.E.N.N.Y ft Lioness – Back To That

One of the best R&B songs I’ve heard this year. J.E.N.N.Y’s hypnotic vocals over this mellow beat will get you fantasising over a fun day at the beach with the ocean’s breeze on your face and without a care in the world.

6. Dajon AF & Korshi T – Iniesta

The synergy between the two artist on this song is one of the standout elements on this song. Korshi T’s vocals adds a soulful feel to this mid-tempo number, that amidst your head-bopping, you have no other choice but to pay attention to the lyrics as well.

7. Melodi – Only You

Melodi sings about self-love and looking out for yourself in this cruel world. A strong reminder that in as much as we’re surrounded by people, the only ones that truly got us, is ourselves.

8. Moelogo – No Worries

Moelogo with the life anthem. The message is to focus, on your work, return energies to whoever or whomever and live your life with no worries.

9. Loti – All The Love

The drums at the beginning at the song will get you moving even before Loti adds his vocals to the song. A mellow track for when you just want to vibe and relax.

10. Rukmani – Unruly

Rukmani has such a melodic flow that captivates the listener from beginning to end of the song. Unruly is a unique display of vocals, lyrics and flow, a combination that tells the calibre of artist she truly is.
