2. Rebecca Winter – Me First
The West Londoner caught the public’s eye in 2015 with her first single “Love”. Since then, she has been on the road making a name for herself, she has opened for Davido and Wande Coal during their UK tour, performing at the infamous Indigo 02 for the Cuba Awards. She’s back with a new single, in which she prioritizes herself, on a smooth production, she embraces the concept of self care, and with a calm voice, she sounds therapeutic than ever.
3. Teni- Trouble (A Colors show)
She is easily one of Nigeria’s most talented acts, from vocals to writing skills, she has it all. And on her colors debut, she’s glistening and richly detailed with her lover, giving a performance that feels like a culmination of her ever-escalating talent and ambition. It’s a bop with enough replay value.
4. Fadi – C’est Ma Melodie
The Nigérienne singer taps into her drill phase, flowing effortlessly on a drill production that stays in line with her approach. French Drill has been a booming sub-genre since Drill’s resurrection, and Fadi does justice to the production with her linguistic sound.
5. T’neeya – Pretty Mind
She flexes her ability to make fierce yet smooth songs. Her latest single follows the same trend that has been a trademark min her career, meticulously poring over productions that breathe fresh air into the art of Afro-fusion.
6. Sudxn – Pink Haze
The Nigerian-American’s passion for infusing her homeland’s culture with New York’s HipHop scene has made her one of the most exciting free-fall artiste on the come up, on Afro-trap beats, her hushed flows are compelling, with trap stories that find it easy to captivate.
7. KiKi Celine – Desire
The singer’s presence on Ghanaian collective 99PHACES adds more quality to an already multi talented group, and her latest single “Desire”, proves just how much she’s good at diaristic, relationship-dissecting records, she sounds so relaxed, opening up her romance saga in a more vivid form. She explores the spectrum of emotions that have fueled her songs since her career took off.
8. Tyla – Been Thinking
Signed to epic records through a joint venture with Fax Records, her music has seen series on genre-bending moments, a skill she is very good at. She has always grazed her songs with bits of pop, R&B and allowed it all to settle with her hometown sound; Amapiano. On her last record, she assumes the role of a chemist, mixing modern dance/house with Amapiano’s kicks, creating a groovy song in the process.
9. Nana Fofie – Selling Dreams
The Sky is just a spring for Ghanaian singer, Nana Fofie, just over a week ago, Nicki Minaj announced the birth of her new record label, accompanying the news with the announcement of new signee, Nana Fofie. Prior to all this, she’s been working hard to cement a name for herself, and “Selling Dreams” reminisces how far she has come.
10. Tamera – Frozen
With a life that is greatly covered with the art of singing and writing, Tamera has bused her skill set to establish herself within the capital’s music scene as one of London’s smoothest vocalist. She has been redefining the boundaries of her style with multiple genres, and her new single “Frozen”, is an Afropop song that explores the hypnotic parts of love.
