Every week, the iMullar staff round up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.
1. Running – Bruno Kay
The drill still exists in the heart of ghana’s hip-hop scene. From breathless flows and a punchy approach towards a drill beat produced by A-Town, Bruno Kay wishes for all the best for this journey, and his lyrics prove he is war ready.
2. 2000 INFINITY – Gaga Ranks
Co-signed by King Promise, the electric rapper brings all the sharp flows & ego-shattering voice to a raw production filled with strings of electric guitar.
3. Y I Want U – Somadina
The Alte scene has birthed many talents. Fresh off the scene is Nigeria’s soul singer, Somadina. On her new single, she subverts trends with ease, spreading playful moods all over her new single, which is off her upcoming project “Heart Of The Heavenly undeniable”.
4. SAME MISTAKES – Gee Baller, Kweku Smoke
Off his third album, “Same Mistakes” marks his first collaboration with Kweku smoke, the duo sharpen their pens against faults, weaving in and out of a stylistic beat that succumbs their rants.
5. Pull Up – OSÁ
The New York singer is back with a new single, and on “pull up”, he brings his experimental shoes to the booth/dance; on a Caribbean-inspired beat, he allows his vocals to control the song’s tempo.
6. DTMV – Khalifina
Khalifina is back on the road but puts herself before everything on “Don’t Touch My Vision”. Her writing skills offer little space for subtlety. She’s as raw as it comes, a trait that has uplifted her craft.
7. Wa Kula (Zacaria) – Yaba Buluku Boyz, DJ Tarico, Jah Prayzah
Following the success of their 2021 remix hit, “Yaba Buluku”, which featured Burna Boy, the Mozambican Trio is back with a new Amapiano single. The song carries the same energy from their previous record, lightening up the dance floor with new vibes.
8. Problem No Dey Finish – Remix – BRYAN THE MENSAH, Medikal
PNDF became an instant fan favourite after the release of his 2021 album. Fast forward, he jumpstarts the song’s potential by joining forces with Medikal for the remix, whose verse displays his carefree and joyous raps.
9. Ego – 1da Banton
1da Banton’s problems never dey finish, so he responds by having the time of his life. On Ego, he introduces listeners to the love side of the Nigerian singer, he’s ready to go the extra mile here, and of course, it’s all pieced together by proper afrobeats production.
10. Scatta Scatta – Fave
Fave’s technical ingenuity has always been a trademark that gives her songs heavy replay value; the singer-songwriter is drunk in love here, her writing adores her lover, and the catchy chorus makes it a record worth visiting again.
