Every week, the iMullar staff round up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.
1. Bad Girl – Idahams, Ajebo Hustlers
The Masters of witty lyrics, Ajebo Hustlers team up with Idahams on “Bad Girl”. As the first single of his yet-to-be-released project, Truth, Love & Confessions (Tlc), “Bad Girl” is an exciting preview of what Idahams has in store for his fans, both old and new (myself included after hearing this song).
2. Flex – CozyPols, Insvne Auggie
CozyPols flexes with his pen game on this Insvne Auggie-produced rap song.
3. GUWOP – Fonzie
“GUWOP” is a display of Fonzie’s impeccable rhyme skill and talent. Everything on this song speaks to how good of a rapper he is. From the wordplay to the timing of his every line as well as the beat of this song, Fonzie is not one to be messed with on the rap streets.
4. Vibes & Trips – Mo Eazy
Get your chill on with this soft-tempo Afrobeats song from Mo Eazy featuring Ycee and King Mufasa. This song has the potential to be the next big hit for Mo Eazy in my opinion.
5. Monaco – Runda
Monaco is known to be a party destination for the rich and famous, and Runda somehow seems to have captured that ambience. Close your eyes and imagine yourself on a yacht in Monaco while this song plays in the background. The production on this was superb as well, with an amapiano and afrobeats infusion feel to it.
6. SO MUCH STRESS – Three Letterz, VI The Law
Given the current state of the economy, the hook on this song hits really close to home, and I know everyone can relate. Paper chasing, hustle and grind are the themes of this trap song.
7. Flowers – Merry-Lynn
Merry-Lynn has a voice made for soul. You can literally hear the emotions of hurt and pain she seeks to impart as you listen to “Flowers”. Try your best to not cry your eyes out as this song tells the story of having your heart broken again by someone who was supposed to mend it.
8. Shawty – Tha Boy Myles
Tha Boy Myles and Skiibii take bragging to a whole new level on this Afro-pop track. The lyrics is basically a manifesto to their “Shawty” on all the amazing ways they can provide for her. I mean who would not want to receive money unannounced?
9. BLOCK & DELETE – FelixThe1st
U.K rapper Felixthe1st comes through with toxic and self-centred vibes on this song. Block and Delete everything that brings you bad vibes when you play Felixthe1st’s new single.
10. Jejeli – Stargod
Something to dance and whine your waist to. Stargod gives us a fun Afro-fusion song with dancehall undertones to get you in the groove.
