Emerging Nigerian artist Tim Lyre drops new album ‘Worry <’

Nigerian singer-songwriter and producer Tim Lyre drops his highly anticipated debut album ‘Worry <’ (pronounced ‘Worry Less’ today. We jumped on an Instagram live with him yesterday and can assure you this is an album to get right into. Produced by London and Johannesburg-based label Outer South, the 9-track album has a lot to offer.

The album has featured appearances from Lex Amor, Prettyboy D-O, MOJO AF, Tena Tenpo, to name a few. Tim explores various genres, from Afrobeats to Neo-soul, showcasing how the album represents a future classic within the alté genre.

Leading track ‘Present’ from the ‘Worry <’ album music video was shot by Nigerian Creative Director, due to be released over the next couple of days, which is simply the icing on the cake to Tim’s album release. TSE shared a few words:

“Present is a song about living in the moment. Personally, I sometimes find it hard to stay present in certain moments but I think we all deal with this as human beings. This song represents a rare moment in which I was truly able to fully express myself through music, from the lyrics to the production to the arrangement of the song, I felt what it meant to be fully switched on through this song.

Believe it or not, Tim has been working on this album over the last three years. Worry < was largely produced by Tim Lyre and owes co-production credits to super talented producers Le Mav, Ronehi, Higo and July Drama.

Tim also shared a few words about his new album:

“Worry < is my first album and as the name implies, I wanted to make an album the listener can plug in to and make all of his/her worries fall away. It’s music to relax to, to be happy or sad to, music to make you feel better, it’s music to soundtrack whatever situation you may find yourself in. If you can find a way to immerse yourself in the project, then I hope it can be as therapeutic for you as it was for me.”

This is a highly anticipated album that many of us have been looking forward to. With one of his track’s from the album ‘Real’, he has also enjoyed large support from media platforms across Africa and in the UK like NATIVE, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Clout Africa, to name a few.
