4. Skillz 8Figure – “Julie”
The talent currently rising from Africa is extremely exciting, as it’s refreshing to be able to enjoy solid music from young, buzzing artistes making their way to the top, knowing they are here to stay. Skillz 8Figure, hailing from Sierra Leone, is a prime example. His latest EP, “After Dark” contains skillful tunes that are nothing short of amazing. “Julie”, its first track, glows with striking qualities that are rich in quality and complexity.
5. Mbosso featuring Diamond Platnumz – “Baikoko”
Tanzanian singer Mbosso completely melted our hearts with his latest album, “Definition of Love.” On the project, he relays romantic stories over R&B, bongo, flava, and Afropop instrumentation and you don’t even need to understand Swahili to be able to feel the vibes. His collaboration with Diamond Platnumz on “Baikoko” stands as one of our favorites on the album. Enjoy it here.
6. Lavaud & Reekado Banks- “Oh My”
British-Mauritian singer Lavaud and Nigerian musician Reekado Banks completely breathed life into “Oh My”, their latest collaboration. It is as satisfying as it is catchy.
7. Lisandro Cuxi – “La La Land”
Cape Verdean singer Lisandro Cuxi’s latest single, “La La Land” will give you instant goosebumps from the very first note he picks up to the last harmony he lays down. He sang the entire song with such intense flair and emotion.
8. Serge Beynaud – “En Haut”
