EDITION 45: DJ AKUAA1. DJ Akuaa featuring Kweku AFro – “Poppin” (Prod. by Apya)
Christmas is near and DJ Akuaa has dropped the perfect song with Kweku Afro for us to jam to during the holiday season. “Poppin” is the ultimate enjoyment banger and you can enjoy its vibrant visuals here.
2. Omah Lay – “Godly” (Prod. by Tempoe)
On November 20th, Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer, Omah Lay released his 2nd EP of the year graced, “What Have We Done”. On the project, the silky-voiced artiste displays rhythmic expressions while expressing his thoughts as a maturing artiste. We can surely hear his growth on”Godly”, where he reflects on his newfound status as a rising superstar.
3. Fally Ipupa featuring Ninho – “Likolo”
Congolese living legend Fally Ipupa has released a new single with his fellow native, Ninho dubbed, “Likolo”. It’s the perfect track to get down to this week, so be sure to add it to your playlists.
4. WurlD – “CHOP ‘N’ PRAY” (Prod. by Alagwu Michael)
Nigerian-American singer, WurlD has added two additional tracks to his well-received EP, “Afrosoul” and they are refreshing additions. We really enjoyed “CHOP ‘N” PRAY”, which contains an amazing amount of flickering guitar strums with a passionate demonstration of emotions about his faithfulness to his love interest. Enjoy it here.
5. Black Coffee featuring Pharrell Williams & Jozzy – “10 Missed Calls”
South African star, Black Coffee plans to usher in 2021 with a new album, “Subconsciously” and we are excited for it. To give us a taste of his upcoming project, he has released its fifth single, “10 Missed Calls” which includes features from Pharrel Williams and Jozzy. It’s a truly refreshing sound.
6. Timaya – “Gra Gra” (Prod. by Boom Beatz)
Timaya is back and he has returned with a new high-spirited album, “Gratitude” that is catching attention all over Africa and beyond. Its 9th track, “Gra Gra” has been on repeat for us; give it a listen here.
7. Sho Madjozi – “Jamani”
Sho Madjozi, the South African “John Cena” hitmaker is officially out with a new EP, “What a Life”, that is a gbom and hip-hop fuse with a dash of contemporary Xitsonga pop. We are thoroughly feeling her song, “Jamani” on the project; it’s a vibe and we recommend that you check it out.
8. SOULS featuring Tim0 – “Black Ashes”
British-Ghanaian rapper, SOULS delivered his debut EP “Phoenix 92” earlier this year and it’s a project you should not miss out on listening to. Its first track, “Black Ashes” featuring Tim0 is a three minute and fifty-one-second account of elite bars that we are sure you will enjoy. Take a listen here.
9. Reekado Banks featuring Kida Kudz & EO- “Need More” (Prod. by Blaise Beatz)
An influx of new projects were released this past week including “Off the Record” by Reekado Banks. The EP takes on Afro-Fusion with guest appearances from Tiwa Savage, Mr. Eazi, Harmonize and more. Be sure to check out the visuals to “Need More” on the project featuring Kida Kudz and EO; it is an engaging showpiece.
10. L.A.X – “Lose My Mind” (Prod. by Clemzy)
Afropop King, L.A.X is out with a 12-track EP, “ZaZa Vibes” that includes African rhythms blended with jazzy notes. We’ll link you to the visuals of his song, “Lose My Mind” that has been catching the hearts of music lovers since its release. It is guaranteed to have you fall in love with its vibes.
