Zenesoul’s ‘Love and Be Loved is everything you thought it would be.

ZENESOUL (pronounced ‘Zen-Soul’) is a Soul artist from Brampton, Canada. Born in Nigeria, she began writing songs at 11 years old. Today, this love for writing plays a big role in her music as she transports listeners with her lyrics. Incorporating soul in all that she does, ZENESOUL creates a sound of her own inspired by artists such as Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott, India Arie, and Brandy.

In March 2019, ZENESOUL released her first EP titled “WORTH.” which included “Lost” and “Pricey.” Later that year, ZENESOUL debuted “Back to You” infusing Afro-beats into her signature soul sound. These projects gained the attention of one of Toronto’s biggest stages, NXNE gaining more attention in the city. 

ZENSOUL would go on to release her next single “How it Feels” in early 2020. The single grabbed the attention of Rory Farrell from the Joe Budden Podcast and R&B Radar®️ along with multiple press mentions. This allowed for the success of her following single, “Wasteman” later in 2020 to be highlighted by Spotify®️, with placements on larger playlists, further growing her audience. 

In late August 2020, ZENESOUL released her sophomore EP, “Coffee” including the hits “Wasteman” and “How it Feels,” along with the tragic ballad, “Safe” which took listeners through her journey through domestic abuse. The project was featured on CTV Morning Live, EarMilk, and many other blogs and playlists, gaining over 150,000 streams in one month.

After escaping an abusive relationship, ZENESOUL finds unconditional love. But what does one do when their partner is a little love shy? This is the story of “Love & be Loved.” Following her EP “Coffee,” streamed over 150,000 times & placed on CTV national news, local/international radio; ZENESOUL escapes the world of heartbreak and touches on love and the beauty of reciprocal love.
