Each week, we accumulate a list of newly released songs that we think you should hear because music is the only universal language of peace and love. Here are some of the best releases you may have missed this week and don’t forget who put you on these sounds. The “Hot Off The Press” playlist is available on Apple Music, Spotify and Audiomack

Shaker featuring Fameye – Sometimes

Life comes with so many setbacks and uncertainties so it’s easy to feel left behind when you try to compare yourself with others. In “sometimes” by Lil Shaker and Fameye sing about the need to stay strong regardless of the storms that life throws at you or the way people think about you. A lot has been happening and if there’s any song to keep you going and give you hope, this is the right one.

Talaat Yarky featuring Medikal – Beckham

Talaat Yarky hoped on the drill wave and delivered a jam titled ‘Beckham’. Beckham is a feel-good song and perfect song for the link-up moments. You will enjoy it. 

Sister Deborah featuring Bpm Boss – Chocolate 

Sister Derby expresses her feels in her new song ‘chocolate’, she talks about the way she feels about a said lover describing them as sweet flavours. The song features Bpm Boss. 

Spcghst featuring Pzeefire & Zacca – Agoro 

Spcghst, Pzeefire and Zacca take contemporary highlife to a different level, catch a vibe with them on this eclectic sound that combines different dimensions and sound waves. Borga Highlife just got better.

Mau From Nowhere  – Dogtail

In his new song named “dogtail”, to reflect the action of a dog chasing its tail round and round in circles, as miscommunications in a relationship can feel, mau from nowhere vents his frustrations that build up between partners – either post or during their time together – where neither party can concede. In the heat of a repetitive argument, it can feel close to asphyxiation, being at odds with one another and no resolution in sight.

EL – Still Papping 

Christmas is here early for ‘Eliens’ as everyone’s favourite rapper, E.L drops another hit titled ‘Still Papping’ – and we can tell you for sure that this record really paps. The song sets you in the mood to bust some dance moves from the first kick of the beat. E.L’s versatility shines as usual in ‘Still Papping’. His dexterity to shuffle multiple languages to create excellent music is evident as he delivers an impressive performance singing and rapping in Ga, Twi and pidgin on this exciting record. 

Mzvee featuring Medikal – Hallelujah 

Mzvee sings of unexplainable joy and peace she’s found in a new single, “Hallelujah”. The song speaks on hoping and trusting in God for better things. Medikal laid a rap verse on the song and as usual dropping witty lines that will get stuck in your mind for a long time. Leave all your troubles to God with Mzvee’s new jam “Hallelujah

Kelvynboy  featuring Gyedu Blay Ambolley – Watch Nobody

Kelvynboy has released 4 songs off his 15-track album titled “Black Star”. The song which is scheduled to be released on the 7th of November features a host of artists like; Samini, Efya, Mugeez, Rocky Dawuni, Suzz Blaq amongst other great acts. The latest release ‘Watch Nobody” which features veteran musician Gyedu Blay Amobolley is a highlife song sending out a simple message; to watch nobody in your whatever you do. Gyedu Blay comes in with her legendary pidgin/fante style making the song one of the best on the album. 

B4bonah  – Work 

A year on after dropping his major hit ‘Kpeme’, with mercurial R2Bees crooner, Mugeez – B4Bonah is out with another Afrobeat classic dubbed ‘Work’, with an equally blockbuster music video to match. The single ‘Work’ which highlights the artist’s impressive pen-game features catchy hooks and verses delivered in multiple languages, a testament to his versatility. He sings excellently in English, Pidgin and Twi serving listeners a delicious sonic cocktail.

Artquake – Escape 

ESCAPE describes an undying desire to move out of a state of depression, anxiety and inner turmoil. According to art quake, he grew from a fearless high achieving child to an adult lost in his own shadow. “I slumped into a mental space of emptiness where I was unable to be myself. This for a fact runs me off my track and eventually never achieves my full potential”. On a morale scale, ESCAPE teaches resilience and will to survive in situations where we have little to no control over circumstances.

KaySo – 6 am

As one of the most sought after producers in Ghana, Kayso is an influence on the sounds of West Africa.
Kayso fuses Afrobeats and Hip Hop with vibrant sounds to share his journey in the song “6 AM” which is not just about his growth in music but his personal life.
“6 AM” is the opening track on album “Heaven’s Gate No Bribe” which is part of a collaboration between Crudo Volta and Free The Youth.
He believes we are who we surround ourselves with and what we expose our minds to. In Kayso’s words “silence all negative voices around you and protect your peace.” Check out his new song “6 am” below.



Asi – Chapter V

Asi takes us on a soulful love musical journey with her 5-track EP which she titles “Chapter V”. Singing on themes like love, pain, indecisiveness and giving up on love, Asi conveys different messages to the listener. It’s up to you to find the theme that resonates with you but if you’re going for a long drive or a night walk at the beach and you want to get in your love feels, plug this tape in and enjoy.

Adina Thembi – Araba 

Adina went all out on her new album ‘Araba’.  With her soulful voice and lyrics that goes straight into the heart, speaking on issues like, hope, love, living life to the fullest, the 10-song album will definitely put you in a great mood and have you head bumping throughout.

Wizkid literally starved his fans for a very long time but he ha finally released his highly anticipated album ‘Made In Lagos’. MIL is not the typical hard-hitting bangers type of album, this is a different type of Wizkid that his fans and music lovers will be introduced to. Classic tunes, amazing collaborations and songs you’ll fall in love with. Enjoy MIL as much as we do.

The Neo-Traditional Man EP is a 4-Track introductory EP written, composed and produced by Soundz Tabuu himself, the only feature on the EP is by Mbuso Ndlela, who plays the Makhweyane on the second track, Ngaka, which is an instrumental track. The song Umsebenzi has already gained over 5000 streams on Apple Music and has been added to the Mzansi Soul playlist
