When it comes to Sounds From The East, you know The iMullar is your plug! With their diverse beat and flow, this week’s selection features artists like Juno kizigenza, Swagina, Shaka Mao, YK, Bruce Melodie, Navy Kenzo, Mike Kayihura, Diamond Platnumz, Vanessa Mdee, Rich Mavoko AND B-Threy in no particular order available on Apple Music and Spotify.

1. Shaka Mao & Swagina Official – “Believe me”

The 2 hottest Ugandan emerging acts right now just dropped dope visuals for one the best tracks of Shaka Mao latest EP: “Rising”. If you haven’t heard the song yet, make sure to check it out, the slow-paced instrumental will give you good vibes! 

2. YK – “Thriller” 

The one and only YK released the visuals of “thriller” and we’re obsessed with it! “Thriller” is one of the bangers on his “Pressure” album and the project is ageing like fine wine. We featured the UK-Sudani artists a few times in the previous editions of sounds from the East do not hesitate to check him out and keep an eye on him.

3. Mike Kayihura- “Trust me (etilisti)”

Mike Kayihura from Rwanda gave us a new track! A mellow production where he displayed his atypical vocals on a chilled instrumental addressing different aspects of the everyday life. Check it out his voice needs to be heard! 

4. Bruce Melodie – “Saa Moya” 

One of the best vocalists Of Rwanda delivered an amazing piece of work and you need to hear it! “Saa Moya” is a sweet Kinyarwanda jam and the vocals are a visual pleasure. Catch some vibes and discover Bruce’s universe through his vocals. 

5. King 98 featuring Diamond Platnumz – “Kachiri” 

Young Zimbabwean rapper King 98 based in South Africa, linked up with the Bongo Flava king to give us a groovy track and an amazing linguistic mix full of different influences. The song might give you “nowo” by Dj Spinall and Wizkid vibes for the instrumental! Or even “kainama” by Harmonize, Diamond, Burna Boy during the chorus sang by the Tanzanian hitmaker. Their collaboration is an interesting one as Diamond Platnumz delivers soft vocals as he never fails to do so meanwhile King98 brings an incisive touch with humid dope rhymes! Check it out  

6. B-Threy – “Landlord” 

Rwanda’s very own, B-Threy just put out an energetic EP: “Shwiii Dah!”. Landlord is by far the best song on it, with a banging production, amazing 808s and sharp rhymes you have no choice but to like it. Get lit and listen to this trap banger. 

7. Juno kizigenza- “Mpa Formula”

The amazing Rwandan singer gave us the visuals for his lovely slow-paced Afro-R&B/Bongo Flava jam and we love it! Check these colourful videos and enjoy Juno’s vocals 

8. Krizbeatz featuring Mr Eazi & Vanessa Mdee – “ Pamela” 

In his latest album, the long-awaited “African Time” Krizbeatz teamed up with the best acts all over Africa. He got the East African Queen, Vanessa Mdee on one of the best tracks of the album and the reception has been great. If you know Vanessa Mdee and how long we have been waiting for her to put out new tracks this song is for you. 

9. Navy Kenzo featuring Nandy – “Bampa 2 Bampa” 

Navy Kenzo from Tanzania is finally back in the game alongside the talented Nandy with a summer hit for us! The only thing you need to do is listen to this cheerful track and let the beat take you away. Their beautiful vocals will make the song better each second into it. 

10. Rich Mavoko – “Silimisha”

“Silimisha” is the 6th track of Rich Mavoko’s latest tape and it’s one our favourites! You need to hear this bongo Flava jam, the bassline will get you to replay this song before it even ends.
