Each week, we accumulate a list of newly released songs that we think you should hear because music is the only universal language of peace and love. Here are some of the best releases you may have missed this week and don’t forget who put you on these sounds.

Kayso – Take it 

Whenever we hear ‘this be Kayso from Tema’, you know what to expect. The young producer lays his vocals on ‘Take it’, his very first single of the year. Kayso goes all lovey-dovey on this one accompanied by a visual directed by Mr Akrong. I bet you didn’t know he could lay it down like this.

Mark Asari – Welcome Home 

British-Ghanaian artist, Mark Asari delivers on his new track titled ‘Welcome Home’. The song is part of a series of new faith-based Christian singles he plans to release in the near future. The track is an upbeat one driven by soulful guitar chords and has an infectious groove. The message of the song explains how big God’s grace is enough for all of us to always accept us back into his will no matter how far we’ve been away from him, as long as we are truly repentant.

Kakra Jay – Odo Nsuo 

‘Odo Nsuo’ is a smooth highlife love song – a song that asks for one to take on the full commitment of love and being in a relationship. Kakra Jay on this single tells a special lady all the things he thinks she’d like to hear, from promising faithfulness to sacrificing family ties.

Dj Neizer – Breathe

The disc jockey on this recent mix “Breathe” is inspired by the global pandemic and the multi-national movement towards racial equality. ”Breathe” opens with a snippet of ‘We are the World’, symbolizing the need for unity and mutual understanding. He added, “the fight for black rights, equity and livelihood go beyond borders or cultural barriers.”

Tiwa Savage – Dangerous Love 

Sometimes love can be blinding, love can choose not to speak and as much as we all love to be loved, we need to understand that love is a choice. Listen to ‘Dangerous Love’ in Tiwa’s narrative.

Zarion Uti – Money 

Zarion believes that as much as we ought to work hard in order to make money, we need to make time to spend the ‘money’ and we couldn’t agree less. “Omo we don’t suffer gan, so we want to enjoy small”, striking lyrics from Zarion’s new song titled ‘Money’.

Kweku Havoc –  This Is For Life

“This is for life” by Kweku Havoc talks about endurance and perseverance with emphasis on how rough the road to success can be but with determination, one can achieve even the impossible.

Juls featuring Miraa May and Donaeo – Blessed  

Juls definitely has a lot of things to be grateful for, his new song ‘Blessed’. From being invited to be a member of the Grammy Recording Academy, to all the music success he’s had so far, it’s evident to the track title. Feed off all the positivity and good vibes in ‘Blessed’’ by Juls featuring Algerian singer Miraa May and Donae’o.

Amaarae – Leave Me Alone 

Amaarae seems to be enjoying her alone time this period and she’s not giving room for negative energy. Produced by Kuvie, Amaarae emphasis on the essence of putting your energy and time to good use, and focusing on your mental health on ‘Leave Me Alone’. Listen to the first single off her yet to be released project.

Lekaa featuring Kwesi Arthur & Peruzzi – Kiss and Tell

Lekaa Beats teamed up with Kwesi Arthur and Peruzzi on latest single “Kiss and Tell”. Everyone has their love language and the various way of expressing it. The featured would love to keep it on the low but lovers want otherwise. They tell us all about it in “Kiss and Tell”. 

Korede Bello  – Morire

Not everything is meant for the public ear because of its’s depth and the pain endured. Korede Bello takes the first song off his upcoming extended play, ‘Morire’ to express feelings and share this moment with everyone who has been with him throughout all the years. The EP which is titled ‘Table For Two” is scheduled to be released on the 24th of July, 2020. 

Krizbeat featuring Falz, Fuse ODG & Nandy – Ogede

“Ogede’ features Falz from Nigeria, Fuse ODG and Nandy from Tanzania. This is definitely a feel-good bop and will definitely fit in any playlist. Krizbeat’s upcoming album ‘African Time’ is coming soon.

Alpha Ojini – Pop II

‘Pop II” is a rap cypher by Alpha Ojini which features some amazing new artists; Paybac Iboro, Psycho YP, Zilla Oaks, Vader The Wildcard, Payper Corleone and Hotyce. All artists take turns to flex their rap prowess on Pop II, Enjoy.

Siriboe – Angels and Demons 

Kicking off his music career with ‘confidence’. Siriboe talks about “Angels and Demons” using himself as the subject matter.

Ricky Tyler – Peachnut

Bokamoso Molema better known by his stage name “Ricky Tyler”, is a South African recording artist, rapper, singer and songwriter signed to Def Jam Africa, his upcoming album ‘Small World’ is scheduled to be released on the 17th of July, before the official release, Ricky has been dropping singles off the album and this week he released ‘Peachnut’. The funky tune which features Alpha P is one that will definitely create a dance reaction from the first play. 

Mensa – I no Dey Bed

If there’s one thing we are certain of when it comes to music from M3NSA, it’s the fact that he sings about real-life issues, as much as we are all trying to stay calm and protected we can’t ignore the fact that there’s anxiety in the air, so many things going through our heads that we can’t even talk about. 1/2 of FOKNBOIS, M3nsa’s new song addresses the issue of some things that keep him up at night and we believe it’s relatable to us all.

Aida Sock – Bopp Sa Bopp

Senegalese singer Aida Sock has released a new Afro hip hop song for our listening pleasure titled ‘Bopp Sa Bopp’. What’s the weekend saying? I don’t know what your plans are for this weekend, but whatever it is, if it’s musically related then here’s a feel-good song for you and your squad. 

Lamie – Like a Dice 

Have you ever wondered how it will feel to be treated like a dice in lovemaking? I have no idea but thanks to Lamie we get to experience it in her sensual new song ‘Like A Dice’. 

Randy N featuring Kweku Smoke – iPod

The single talks about the infamous Apple iPhone X. Randy N jovially sings that anyone who doesn’t have the iPhone X might as well have an ‘iPod’. The single features a smooth verse from ‘Yedin’ hitmaker, Kweku Smoke. ‘iPod’ serves as a follow up to Randys’ well-received song ‘Onyegelemi’ which featured Camidoh.

Sarkodie – CEO

Sarkcess Music frontman Sarkodie comes through with this hardcore tune dubbed “CEO Flow” featuring Ace American rapper, E-40 known for his hit single, “Choices” (YUP). This is certainly his birthday gift to his fans and are not new to Sarkodie and his rap style, he does it the CEO way and we love it. 

 

Projects

Tolu DaDi – Stimuli 

Born Toluwlope Ajani Ojelabi, ToluDaDi is an Afrobeat/ Afro-fusion artist from Nigeria whose skill strength lies in his versatility and musical genre range. ‘Stimuli’ is his second EP and this tape was influenced by his life experiences and his surroundings. ToluDadi’s goal for this project is to spark his listeners’ incentive to unleash their full potential as they strive to be great in whatever their desires and purposes are. Guest appearances on the tape are Cici Yeboah, Bwoui, Thrill, Anonimo, BabaWvD and YN the Afropikin. This tape will definitely go down as a memorable one.
