Each week, The iMullar staff rounds up the songs we cannot stop playing in The Weekly, and we’re calling all lovers of music to enjoy them with us. This week we have RJZ, Joeboy, Nero X, Sauti Sol, Teephlow, $pacely, Teni, Whoisakin, Peruzzi, and Khalifina making up our list for the ten songs you need in your life in no special order available on Apple Music.
1. RJZ – “For Life” (Prod. by Jaysynths & Erby)
RJZ has premiered the visuals to his latest single and it is the embodiment of true love. According to RJZ, “For Life” was inspired by his cousin, Lorenzo who spent countless years in prison for a rape crime he did not commit. It’s amazing how RJZ’s used his artistry to shine a light on Lorenzo’s story through such a beautiful display. Check the visuals out there, it’s guaranteed to take you through an array of emotions.
2. Joeboy – “Call” (Prod. by Dera)
Whenever you hear, “it’s Joeboy pon deck” on a track, you can be certain that it will be a repeat-worthy banger. Joeboy’s recent release “Call” is a textured hit with its corresponding video being a finely-calibrated stunner. Enjoy it here.
3. Nero X feat. B-Bryte – “Makoma” (Prod. by Fada Beatz)
A brand new love song from Nero X has emerged dubbed, “Makoma”. Makoma translates to “my heart” in the Akan dialect, and the singer pleads with his lover not to break his heart in this satisfying jam. He vows to love her unconditionally if she chooses to reciprocate his energy, and it was all done over a sweet-sounding melody.
4. Sauti Sol feat. Soweto Gospel Choir – “Brighter Days” (Prod. by Sauti Sol & Mboks)
“…I’m certain brighter days are yet to come, ain’t no question that tomorrow there will be good times”. The Kenyan band began and ended “Brighter Days” on such an encouraging note, and we can all use such a song during times like this. Uplift your spirits with this soothing track, that is the second released single on their upcoming album, “Midnight Train” set to drop on the 5th of June.
5. Teephlow – “2K20” (Prod. by Mpbeatz & Lesanedricks)
Teephlow’s wordplay is top-notch with consistent, flawless delivery each and every single time. He is a literal lyrical beast, and his latest freestyle, “2K20” is a must-see. Enjoy it here.
6. $pacely feat. Dani Draco – “Paradise” (Prod. by Telz)
$pacely is such a powerful force in the current Ghanaian hip-hop scene, and his presence is refreshing. From his solid flow to his dynamic ad-libs, he gives us his full energy with each release. His latest single, “Paradise” with Dani Draco is effortlessly epic. It can be found on all major music streaming platforms.
7. Teni & DJ Neptune – “Isolate” (Prod. by P. Priime)
“The Quarantine Playlist” is a joint tape by Teni and DJ Neptune to help us get through these strenuous times. The four-song project includes our current favourite, “Isolate” that we have been enjoying thus far. Join in on the vibe.
8. Whoisakin – “Space” (Prod. by Lex)
