In 2006, Savage appeared on the UK edition of X-Factor, making it to the top 24, while attending Berklee College of Music. After her time on the X-Factor as well as completing her studies at Berklee, Tiwa continued on her pursuit towards becoming a musician. In 2009, it is reported that Tiwa Savage signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. The deal allowed her to write and contribute to the works of artist such as Babyface, Jaicko, Kat Deluna, Fantasia, Monica, and Mya. In 2012, Tiwa Savage signed a deal with Mavins that catapulted her career towards stardom. Tiwa Savage released her debut studio album, entitled Once Upon a time in July 2013.
Tiwa Savage specializes in a blend of Afrobeat, Afropop, R&B and soul. Blessed with a mellifluous voice, Tiwa has dominated the realm of Afropop and Afrobeats Tiwa Savage has demonstrated the power of growth and consistency throughout her career spanning over fourteen years. To date, Tiwa has released three major projects consisting of two studio albums and a EP.Many consider Tiwa Savage the Queen of Afrobeat, but Tiwa has proved herself to be a true savage in the music industry.
