Songs You Need in Your Life

Each week, The iMullar staff rounds up the songs we cannot stop playing in The Weekly, and we’re calling all lovers of music to enjoy them with us. This week we have Darkovibes, Bensoul, Nxwrth, Stonebwoy, Odunsi (The Engine), Adri, Rayvanny, Guiltybeatz, Shaggyblaq, and DJ Breezy making up our list for the ten songs you need in your life in no special order available on Apple Music.
1. Darkovibes feat. Kwesi Arthur & Joey B – “Confirmed” (Prod. by Supersmashbroz & GibDJ)
The wait is finally over. Darkovibes’ anticipated album, “Kpanlogo” has arrived and we are enjoying it heavily. From beginning to end, each track on the album is laced with ebullient vibes that are ranked highly in a plethora of music charts. “Confirmed” is currently one of our favourites on the project; its feel-good qualities have us addicted.
2. Bensoul – “Forget You”
Throughout the month of April, Kenyan vocalist, Bensoul will be releasing a weekly series of acoustic jams for us to enjoy every Thursday at 4:20 p.m. He dropped the first video this past Thursday titled, “Forget You”. Enjoy it here.
3. Nxwrth feat. KwakuBs, $pacely, & Kuvie – “Back 2 Back” (Prod. by Kuvie)
Nxwrth’s debut album, “NASA: Thanks For Flying” has officially dropped and its vibes are out of this world. The entire project was deftly-produced, which doesn’t catch us by surprise knowing how skilful Nxwrth is at his craft. We currently have “Back 2 Back” noted as one of our favourites on the album. 4. Stonebwoy feat. Alicai Harley – “Understand” (Prod. by N2theA)
We are patiently waiting for Stonebwoy’s new album, “Anloga Junction” to be released on the 24th of this month. In the meantime, let’s enjoy the release of his latest video, “Understand” that will be found on the album. Stonebwoy and Jamaican diva Alicai Harley took this one to the Islands!
5. Odunsi (The Engine) feat. Tems – “Decided” (Prod. by Odunsi)
Odunsi (The Engine) has finally delivered some new music our way. “Decided” features alt-R&B singer Tems, and they surely came together to give us alté bliss. Include it as the latest alternative song in addition to your playlists.
6. Adri – “Hakuna Matata”
The UK based, Kenyan artiste and influencer Adri has released yet another dynamic banger. The phrase “Hakuna Matata” translates to “there are no troubles” in the Swahili language, and Adri incorporates that uplifting message in his new single. Take a listen here.
7. Rayvanny feat. Karen – “One”
Earlier this year, Tanzanian sensation Rayvanny released a solid tape of spectacular love jams. This past week, he dropped the lyric videos to all of the songs on the project to his YouTube channel. Check out one of our personal favourites “One”, and be sure to sing along.
8. GuiltyBeatz & J. Derobie – “My Vibe” (Prod. by GuiltyBeatz)
Grammy-nominated producer and DJ, Guiltybeatz has released his debut EP and it is seamless. Anyone who listens will fall in love with how flawless the transitions to the songs are, and they will certainly have you running the project back over and over again.
9. Shaggyblaq – “Bills N’ Dues”
To start the year, promising Nigerian star, Shaggyblaq released a project to draw imagery on real-life experiences and everything in between. “Bills N’ Dues” on the EP is his prayer to God for the works of his hands to be blessed so he does not have to hustle forever. It’s extremely relatable; take a listen here.
10. DJ Breezy feat. Kwaw Kese, Tinny, Bollie, Dogo, and Okra – “Vintage Flow” (Prod. by DJ Breezy)
Where are our hiplife lovers? This one is for y’all. DJ Breezy got some of the hottest hiplife gurus on the same beat and its sweet music to our ears. The visuals to the banger is also a stunner.
