On Rotation: Songs You Need In Your Life This Week

Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.

1. Lu’ – Si Mi

The beauty of this record is; although it’s groovy enough to keep you dancing on your feet, the vocals and the melodies evoke this serenity in you that leaves your brain with a peaceful calmness that you didn’t know you needed.

    2. Lloyiso – High

Lloyiso has this unique ability to immerse his listeners in any song he puts out. His songs take you on a trip with his vocals giving a visual picture of what you’re listening to. The vocal ranges exhibited in this track is just genius. A truly talented artist.

    3. HassanMelanated Ft Bensoul – Tangawizi

We can’t emphasize enough how mush we appreciate whoever made this linkup happen for this song to exist. A beautiful record through and through.

    4. G-Migos ft O’Kenneth – Press 2

The duo have been churning out hot freestyles and vibrant drill records since they burst onto the music scene. “Press 2” is the latest addition to the discography, and a follow up to the first edition released in September. It showcases their consistency with making anthems for the African Drill audience. O’Kenneth, as always, delivers on his verses.

    5. Osa Nkiru – All For Me

Osa sings about been in the moment with your partner and enjoying everything in the relationship as it happens. The record teaches, to not always anticipate what happens next, but to relish in the build up; romantic moments, tensions and resolutions.

    6. Aymos ft. Mnqobi Yazo & Em-One – Ngane yami

Aymos’ “Impilo” album is filled with gems and I keep discovering new favourites every day. My latest obsession from the album is “Ngane Yami”.

    7. TML Vibez & Dj 4kerty – Boss

One of the fastest rising stars from Nigeria, TML Vibez has been consistent with feel good street anthems since his debut. His latest album with Dj 4Kerty gives you a full scope of his artistry; from lyrical storytelling to distinct melodies and harmonies.

    8. Element Eleéeh – TOMBÉ

Had this record on repeat all weekend and I highly recommend listening it with your headphones or with surround to fully enjoy and appreciate this piece of art.

    9. Naledi Aphiwe & Mawelele – Romeo & Juliet

Once in a while, you hear a song that just softens your heart and makes you want to fall in love again and again. This is one of such songs.

    10. SenSey’ – Goumin

The first time I heard this track, I replayed it multiple times just to make sure I appreciated every bit of mastery that went into making this record. From the production to the vocals to the background harmonies, this record is a sonic marvel.
