The streets knew his name before the industry did. In the ever-evolving landscape of Ghanaian music, where raw talent meets unshakable ambition, one name has been carving its path with relentless energy, Beeztrap KOTM. Born from the raw energy of Kumasi’s underground rap battles and sharpened by the spiritual discipline of a church drummer, Beeztrap KOTM is an anomaly. He is a trap apostle with sermons of street wisdom and unshakable faith. His sound is a perfect blend of hard-hitting bars, melodic hooks, and gospel-infused grit.2025 wasn’t just a year, it was his coronation. And when he took home his first TGMA plaque for “Best New Artist”, it wasn’t just a win, it was proof that the underdog had become king.

From freestyle cyphers to award stages, Beeztrap KOTM’s journey is a testament to faith, hustle, and unstoppable versatility. This interview has been edited for clarity and length.

The name ‘Beeztrap KOTM’ carries weight. What’s the story behind it, and how does it reflect your music?

Beeztrap was a name I stole from my senior back in Junior High School because I loved his lifestyle back then. I was seeing the name written everywhere in the school. It felt like a calling. I added KOTM to make it stand out.

Who were your biggest musical inspirations growing up, and how have they shaped your sound?

Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Medikal, Kwesi Arthur, and Joey B. Listening to these artists really shaped me and that’s why I can’t stick to one genre.

Your music blends aggressive trap beats with sharp lyricism. How do you balance raw energy with technical skill in your writing?

I just go with the flow.

As much as you have the core Hip-Hop side of you, you also have a very spiritual side, with lyrics revering and referencing Jesus Christ and his influence in life. How important is it to you to share that part of you to the audience?

I’m from a very religious background. I grew up in the Church. I used to play drums in the church and I’m a strong believer of God. I believe with God all things are possible and that’s why I am where I am today. I pictured all this and the Lord made it happen.

What’s your creative process like? Do you start with beats, concepts, or freestyles that evolve into full tracks?

The creative process can never be one way. I can channel my artistry and creativity in any way.

What’s the central theme or message behind “Power”? Does it mark a new era for your sound?

Yeah. “Power” is my showing the world how powerful I am in a special way. How powerful I am in my creativity, in my writing, in my thinking, in my versatility and that’s why you meet different genres when you listen to the album. God gave every one a special power. If you want to know mine, listen to the “Power” album.

Can you share some standout tracks or surprises fans should expect? Any songs that pushed you creatively?

“POWER 10” on my “Power” album.

Your album boasts collaborations with several talented artists such as Himra, The Asakaa Boyz, Kweku Smoke, Kuami Eugene and more? How did you approach these collaborations and what did they contribute to the overall theme and storytelling of the album?

Most of them showed love and we connected easily. A big shoutout to my team for reaching out to the international artist on the album

The title “Power” suggests dominance, energy, and maybe even struggle. How does this album reflect your personal growth or mindset?

“Power” is a collection of how powerful Beeztrap KOTM is.

What’s one misconception people have about your music or persona that you’d want to correct?

One of the misconceptions people have about me is that I am just a Lover boy. I am though but you will find more of who I am when you pay attention listening to my album.

How do you view the current state of Hip-Hop? Where do you see yourself fitting in?

I fit in anyway. I can never be limited. I love Hip-Hop. It has been a blessing to me.

Where do you see Beeztrap KOTM in five years? Any long-term goals you’re working toward?

Everything is on the hands of God.
