On Rotation: Songs You Need In Your Life This Week

Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.

1. Fuse ODG ft. Suli Breaks – Sundiata

Fuse ODG delivers a banger for all the party goers and groove enthusiasts this summer. This record moves you to the dance floor as soon as the beat drops. A solid club banger. The speech at the end is very inspiring. A nice touch.

2. Sabah – NOOR

It’s summer and as usual we will be outside for festivals and concerts. This is one of the records that just embodies the perfect summer for an extroverted music lover.

3. BETTY BROWN – Rather Be Alone

Life is an individual journey. This beautiful track is a reminder that it’s better to be alone than to entertain drama and situations that won’t help you in any way

4. jaykatana feat. Blxckie – SIZOKUTHOLA

An unconventional approach to Hiphop. At the first listen, you don’t quite get it, but after a few listen, you just can’t get enough. jaykatana’s unique flow with Blxckie’s wordplay and cadence make this record a great trap song to listen to on a joy ride.

5. Yaya Bey – raisins

This record is like slow dancing with your partner on a rainy night; just melts all your worries away with its warmth and soul.

6. CIZA ft. Jazzworx & Thukuthela – ISAKA (6AM)

As the record was playing, I couldn’t help to imagine listening and dancing to this record at a rave. Suddenly I’m back at iMullar SoundSystem raging and all is right and beautiful with the world.

7. Khamari – Head In A Jar

The R&B and Soul boys are unapologetically outside again and we re all thrilled by it. Khamari presents a vulnerable yet beautiful element of music that we gravitate to and love.

8. AFFA – Diva

This record had me grooving on the first listen and has made it’s way to my day-to-day personal playlist.

9. Greentea Peng – Stones Throw

A soulful voice with beguiling stories that captivate the listener and take them on a sonic journey. We have all fumbled genuine love, whether it was the right person, wrong time or another reason and this record is for all of us that couldn’t over the one that got away.

10. chlothegod – I Feel Different Every Day

A refreshing song you can put on after a day of striving and making a better life for yourself. A record to remind that your daily efforts to elevate yourself are important and matter.
