On Rotation: Songs you need in your life this week

Every week, the iMullar staff round up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.

1. SuMoMi by Kwame Yesu:

This love song from Kwame Yesu will have you dancing while vibing to the very meaningful lyrics of deep and overwhelming love. Kwame Yesu delivers an endearing performance on this song. Coupled with a very well-produced beat by Iyke Parker this is the perfect song for any hopeless romantic.

2. Falling featuring Smallgod, DARKOO and KiDi

Smallgod enlists the help of two more of his talented friends (DARKOO and KiDi) for this jam. This song is for all the toxic boys and girls out there who always want what isn’t theirs (We know ourselves). Both KiDi and DARKOO give solid performances in this collaboration. This song has the potential to be another hit from Smallgod and his friends.

3. Silver Spoon Interlude by WANI:

WANI speaks on his unrelenting grind and hustle despite the silver spoon he was raised with on Silver Spoon Interlude. The inspiring lyrics from WANI show his determination to make it and lets his audience know that he is a survivor at heart. Despite it being a prelude of sorts to Jezebel (another amazing song from WANI), Silver Spoon Interlude stands as a great song in its own right.

4. Weak by Frayz

Yes, another love song on the list. Something you can bump your head to on a long drive to nowhere (however, given the current fuel prices I am sure everyone will not take this suggestion seriously). Frayz’s soulful voice sings of his love being his weakness over a mellow beat and is definitely worth the listen.

5. FYN by Rema and AJ Tracey

Rema is here to remind us all that he is a FYN (Fresh Young N**ga). The slow tempo Afrobeats track is the third single off his much-anticipated Ravers and Roses album. U.K. rapper AJ Tracey’s masterful verse flows with Rema’s silky vocals on this banger. Listen to Rema and AJ Tracey’s FYN so you activate the FYN in you.

6. Tanzania by Uncle Waffles and Tony Duardo ft Sino Msolo & BoiBizza:

For the first single off her upcoming EP, Uncle Waffles delivers a bop. She shows that she actually has a gift for producing this song. Tanzania features Sino Msolo and BoiBizza on vocals and it is absolutely worth updating your Amapiano playlists with.

7. No Wahala (Remix) 1da Banton featuring Kizz Daniel and Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage and Kizz Daniel hop on the remix to the viral hit and it works remarkably well. Kizz Daniel delivers as per usual but Tiwa Savage stole the show on this collaboration. Her verse brings a refreshing light to the very popular song by 1da Banton.

8. Foreigner by Nonso Amadi

I played this song on my speakers and I must say the bass on this song is amazing. The instruments on this song mesh together to form a very well-crafted beat. From the guitar to the trumpet to the drums paired with Nonso Amadi’s clear voice, this song gives jazz meets afrobeats vibe that is very pleasing to the ear.

9. Press by WurlD

With its lively beat, Press off WurlD’s My World With U displays the singer’s sultry vocals and impeccable flow. The Afropop super-talent is smooth and suave on this song and has again cemented his status as a heavyweight with his latest album which dropped earlier this month.

10. Ice Cream by Falz x BNXN (Buju)

Buju adds another feature to his kill list with this one. The song is short but sensual. It has a dancehall feel to it and Falz comes through with innuendo-filled lyrics that are certified to have you on your feet dancing.
