Every week, the iMullar staff round up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From South to West Africa, to the UK, each track is guaranteed to be a vibe.
1. Amaal – Heaven
I recently stumbled across Amaal’s music and I am so glad. Amaal’s lyricism is an embodiment of confidence. The Somali Songstress’ tone is sultry & soulful with dance moves to match that energy in her afro-futurism visuals.
2. SAFE – Feeling Lucky
Representing the 6, Feeling Lucky is the hit-off of SAFE’s’ new project Get Home SAFE (Part 1). SAFE blesses the mellow tempo track with his melodic raps. This is a great addition to your chilled playlist for those late-night drives.
3. Ty Leone – Blackberry
I have to have my volume on max when this song comes on. Ty Leone flows skillfully on this drill beat with a catchy hook that is sure to get stuck in your head.
4. Liza – Done is Done
Liza brings authenticity to the table with this rather bleak but beautiful telling of the painful lessons of relationships that no longer serve you. This minimalistic beat is perfect for Liza to express what is on her mind.
5. Khaid – With You
Stepping onto the music scene with a bang, Khaid recently released his first single With You. Khaid gives us a taste of what he is capable of and I’m excited to see what else he has in store for 2022!
6. BLK ODYSSY – FUNKENTOLOGY
As the name suggests, this track is full of funk with a touch of R&B. I love the take BLK ODYSSY took on this track. This funk-filled track is a single from BLK ODYSSY’s debut album BLK VINTAGE.
7. Niinety9 – Kini Issue
This sensational jam is a smooth R&B track off of Niinety9’s debut EP Bodied Soul. Niinety9 puts his feelings on air time as he croons about the switch up in his lover’s attitude.
8. Kelvyn Boy – Down Flat
My mood is very much mellow most of the time but I always have to play something for balance and Down Flat is perfect for that. This has a catchy melody that has me doing up dance choreography. Kelvyn Boy also dropped stunning visuals to accompany this dance jam.
9. Bree Runway – Pressure
Sis definitely applied the pressure with this track. The vocals, the fits, and choreography. Bree Runway executes all effortlessly and proves that she is a force to be reckoned with.
10. Anaiis – Vanishing
Anaiis’ vocals are airy and glide gently through this song with such control. Especially her runs! Honestly, Anaiis makes it seem too easy.
