Twitch 4EVA Surprises Fans with a remix of Chaskele featuring Oxlade.
Love songs always have a place within our hearts. Finding a love song that connects to the heart as well as personal experiences can often evoke feelings of sentimentality or provide new insight into past or current relationships. So, for me chancing on this song Chaskele, off the ‘Lost’ EP, served as a gateway into unearthing and addressing my past experiences with feeling unwanted and even lonely while in a relationship.

231 days after the release of the single Chaskele, the sublimely gifted Twitch 4EVA surprised fans with a remix to this love story, featuring one of Nigeria’s finest Oxlade.
The love story continues as listeners dive back into Twitch 4EVA’s melodic voice detailing his vulnerabilities and feelings related to being played within a relationship. Then with such ease, Oxlade delivers a euphonious verse centered around acknowledging the importance of his partner. After listening to the remix of Chaskele, I was able to engage the mirthful, yet confident musician known as Twitch 4EVA in a conversation over Zoom about the birth of the remix, love tales, and self-love.
Appearing on my screen, Twitch 4EVA presented with a calm and cheerful demeanor, as I teased him about making sure he was going to be as open as possible. To break the ice, I challenge Twitch 4EVA to participate in a quick ice breaker of two truths and a lie where I discovered that Twitch is left-handed, enjoys singing a lot, and is also known as Kwabena. From there we ventured into the conversation all about Twitch, his music, and his idea of self-love.
M- What inspired the song Chaskele? Is it based on true life experiences?
Chaskele is basically me being in the mind space where I thought I was in love with this girl but she made it clear that she was only in for fun. So, if I had known earlier, I would know how to play my cards. I felt broken hearted a bit because she blocked plenty of chances. Chaskele is based on a true-life experience one hundred percent.
M-What made Oxlade a good fit for the Remix of Chaskele? How did the remix come about?
I really like Oxlade sound, and I am a fan of Oxlade. I think his sound connects with my sound when it comes to being emotional. Oxlade came to Ghana, we linked up and we were just playing songs and when I got to Chaskele, he had never heard it before. I played the song, and he was like “Yo he can see himself singing and it is something he would want to do a remix for.”

M- Were you there when Oxlade recorded his verse.
No, he sent it from Nigeria. He just liked the song. He flew out like the next day, so we sent the song, and he sent the vocals back.
M-Walk us through when you received Oxlade’s verse back? What was going through your mind?
Ooh I liked it. He sent me a snap, like a snippet before the actual vocals. Yo, his vocals go crazy, I like his range, so when he was backing the song, I was like “oh my Gawd, the ladies will like this one.”
M-You gave us your definition of Chaskele in your explanation of how the song came about, I know for me as a listener the song touched on my feelings of being unwanted and even neglected in a relationship, so I wanted to ask you, what advice do you have for anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation as you described in Chaskele?
This life no be rush! Just relax, make your money, or fall in love. No stress! If you are young, relax and be successful. It’s no rush.
M- Apart from Oxlade, what other artistes do you enjoy listening to?
Burna Boy, Quamina Mp, Kwesi Arthur, Kofi Mole, Wizkid, Davido, R2bees, Sarkodie. Honestly, anything Ghana. I’m a big Shatta Wale fan.

M- So you are SM4LFY? What are your top 5 Shatta Wale songs?
Dem Confuse, Ayoo, Everybody like my thing, Hosanna, and Be afraid. I’m particular about listening to sngs I can relate to. Shatta always says things I can relate to.
M-What can we expect from Twitch 4EVA this Year?
More music, all day every day. Right now my mind space is in a different place, and the journey continues. So every time we drop, we are trying to add something new to our journey. So people should keep following the journey. More videos, more songs. This year, I’m really preaching about self-love. Make sure you think about yourself first.
M-You touched on preaching about self-love. Is it through your music or social media?
Through my music of course. My posts are maybe an addition to the stuff I do, but when it comes to my music that is where I say what I have to say.
M-So what is your definition of self-love?
Self-love is making sure you have confidence in yourself and then believing in the power of attraction. Being in a mental space when you feel like you can work hard to attract something rather than begging for it.
Apart from music how do you practice self-love?
By thinking. Being in your own space. Realize that you don’t have to do things for people 24/7. Do people good, do what you need to do during that 24, and make sure that 7 you sit down and think for yourself. If you sit down and think you will grow self-confidence.
Listen to Chaskele remix and don’t forget to revisit the ‘Lost’ EP.
