Alté Music has hit a new peak, originally defined as a “cool kids” genre, it has evolved to a different level, thanks to acts experimenting around with different soundscapes to suit their fans, and Jay Cliff is a runner for the genre. On “Red Wine”, Moor sound’s production glides without sacrificing its Hip Hop elements, with drums and melodic sounds that fuel Jay Cliff’s lyrics towards his lover. Just like the title, it’s a song that sets the perfect mood for those late-night conversations best served with wine. After linking up with $pacely on his previous single “Crossfaded”, Jay Cliff recruits the ‘Paradise’ rapper again for “Remember”, a sad, gauzy R&B featuring  Apex Village singer, Ayüü. The trio engineer a hazy, gliding neo-soul vibe that one would encounter on any Alté production about love.

“Island Girl” sees Moor Sound step out from behind the laptop to spew his vocals on his own production with Jay Cliff, with a theme laced with Caribbean trademark, allowing both acts to fantasize about an island girl and all her stunning qualities. Just 3 songs into Jay Cliff’s 17-minute offering of experimental Alté sounds, and you’ll comfortably sink into Cliff’s world. Another soothing moment in the project that deserves a mention and that’s Canadian singer TOME’s guest feature on “Chargie”. TOME is literally the heartbeat of the song with her chilly vocals, showcasing subtlety, restraint, and finesse all before handing the baton to Cliff to finish off the stand-out song of the project.

If any song was going to define Alte in its purest form, it would be the joint with Kaygee ADN. Vybz & Chill” is a smooth, sultry tune that finds both acts bellowing in a tenor full of chemistry. The production keeps the vocals soft as ever, making it a song you can get high to and ride to. Emotions are splattered everywhere on “No Time”, a love song that talks about regrets & risks, it’s elevated emotionally with an appearance by EFYA, who does what she knows best, peeling back the layers of passion and regret with exceptional potency, with her ever satisfying voice. As experimental as RWC gets, it’s still the best medicine, making it easy to lose yourself in the journey of love, youth and regret that Jay Cliff takes you on. Providing all with original Alte music crafted to suit a range of listeners and their preferences.
