Amaarae is in the Zone “Leave Her Alone!”
Alte-RnB’s ‘warrior princess’, Amaarae is back with yet another dreamy record titled ‘Leave Me Alone’. In the ‘Like It’ singer’s own words Leave Me Alone is ‘a freedom track’, about taking time out and needing to live life on your own terms and being left to do so.
Amidst the craziness of our current reality, the young Ghanaian American musician takes time out of working on her forthcoming EP ‘The Angel You Don’t Know’ to feed the fans this summery single dripping with her characteristic whisper style singing and unique sonic flair. Though the song lyrics objectively speak to staying in one’s zone away from fake friends and time wasters, Amaarae’s sweet vocals warm up the track reminding us of cool late summer nights and long car rides. The message is clear and relatable ‘we all need a break or some form of escape’ the singer tells us about the single, ‘whether it is to have space or process, breathe and get your mental and emotional state right’. Leave Me Alone is the perfect light soundtrack to doing just that.
Since releasing Passionfruit Summers in 2017, Amaarae has been on a roll and we can’t feel her momentum letting up anytime soon. Staying on her grind, the star has laid a strong foundation in the West African Alte community running up feature after feature on hits like Santi’s Rapid Fire and Odunsi the Engine’s Bodycount featuring Deto Black and Gigi Atlantis.
The multifaceted artiste continues to carve out her own path amidst nu school African talent, firmly planting herself in the running as one of the biggest versatile talents to come out of the continent.
Amaarae is clearly a force to be reckoned with and with her EP is scheduled for release later this summer and we can’t wait for worldwide domination from this angel.
