Spectrum 54, in collaboration with Backstage Africa, has officially announced the upcoming edition of “The Listening Room”, an intimate audio-visual experience designed around the belief that “Good music is understood together”. Presented in strategic partnership with Priceless Music Consultancy, iMullar, Creatizine, ALO, and Half Slice.
Living in an era where new projects are dropped almost every weekend and public attention shifts almost immediately to the next trend, The Listening Room creates a necessary counter-culture. It serves as a dedicated sanctuary built to slow down the fast-paced consumption cycle, offering a focused space where music lovers, critics, and creators can dive deeply into projects, whether past or present, and give them the deliberate attention they truly deserve.
Importantly, the event is intentionally curated without musical performances. Instead, the focus remains entirely on pure, honest, and constructive conversations. An authentic space where creators can receive meaningful feedback, producers can break down their technical craft, and listeners can engage in open dialogue around an artist’s complete body of work without distraction. Scheduled for August 28th, 2026, starting at 6:30 PM, the session will take place at Vibrate Space under the guiding banner: “Three projects. One night. Honest conversations”.
This edition of The Listening Room will highlight three distinct musical bodies of work:
Moderated by cultural strategist and storyteller Nana Kojo Mula, the evening will feature an engaging, structured format:
- Three Album Showcases: A dedicated spotlight on each featured project.
- Insightful technical and creative breakdowns of the musical production.
- Interactive dialogue allowing direct, constructive artist-to-audience engagement.
- Opportunities for creatives, media, and fans to network and connect.
