Art Uncovered: Neizer

A multidisciplinary visual and digital artist, Ebenezer Appiah, known in the creative space as Neizer, effortlessly bridges the worlds of graphic design, streetwear, video editing, and even the occasional lazy poetry. Art has always been an intrinsic part of his identity, a language through which he translates deeply personal experiences into work that resonates universally.

Rooted in Ghanaian and African history and culture, Neizer’s artistry is a vibrant exploration of heritage, storytelling, and contemporary expression. Beyond personal projects, such as celebrity portraits, art challenges, and exhibitions, he has made a significant mark in music, designing over 100 cover artworks in just two years and collaborating with Ghana’s underground artists.

In the last two years, Neizer has created over 100 artworks. His work and influence extends into fashion as well, having partnered with more than 15 clothing brands, blending bold aesthetics with cultural narratives. Some call them the “artwork god,” but that title hardly captures his versatility. A true jack of all trades, Neizer thrives at the intersection of art and design, constantly redefining creative boundaries.

What Inspired your decision to be an artist?

I’ve always had a deep love for art. As a kid, I spent most of my time drawing after school, I’d even bring my sketches to class, and everyone loved them. That feeling of creating something people loved stuck with me. I wanted to feel that again but this time, with intention and purpose.

What type of Art do you do?

I’m a digital artist. I just make art.

What story do you tell with your Art?

I’ll say my own personal experiences and also I’m trying to carve a niche in making art about the Ghanaian/African Culture. But mostly my art is related to the urban Ghanaian music scene.

How did you learn how to make art?

I knew how to draw when i was a kid, my dad was also an artist himself. It was just a hobby. I remember he used to teach me a particular art style where you can draw portraits of someone using graphs but i didn’t get time to actually learn, so I just made normal drawings. I came to know about digital drawing and in 2021, a friend of mine called Addy taught me just one time and that was it. The rest i figured it out myself.

Who/what are your biggest artistic influences?

My Dad. To me he was that good, he influenced me a lot and this wasn’t something he even used to do most times. When I started, I used to look to Hashim and later Feoisugly. The underground music scene, Streetwear and urban fashion too.

What are some of your major works, collaborations, and exhibitions? Are there any people you would like to work with in future?

To me, every work I’ve done is major. I’ve worked with both upcoming and established artists with their cover artworks. Collaborated with Tony Bleh and Ajei for Yasin Clothing brand and others. Working with Dee Moneey currently on his project, (can’t disclose) Worked with Pappy Kojo last year, and worked with over 15 clothing brands from Ghana, Uk, USA. Wintertuin curaçao festival, 2024. “The way it is” Fashion and art festival, untamed empire, etc.

In 5 years, where do you want to be with your art?

I just want to travel around the world, exhibiting and selling my arts. I also want to be a household name in the Ghanaian fashion scene. To see great people wear my stuff all around the world. Build a design school or something, giving back to the people and all.
