A collection that explores the unseen forces that carry us, crafted for those who carry home wherever they go.
Yellow Studio presents its new Autumn-Winter collection, “Strings of Freedom,” a masterful exploration of movement, heritage, and the quiet power of dreaming without limits. At the heart of the collection is a deeply personal inspiration drawn from collective memory. Yellow Studio Founder and Director, Barimah A. Debrah reaches back to a quintessential Ghanaian childhood experience: the crafting and flying of handmade kites against wide-open skies. The release comes off the heels of their collaborative collection, “By The Fireside” with Jude Dontoh.
The collection translates this narrative into tactile reality. Refined textures mimic the delicate yet resilient materials of a kite’s frame and sail. Deep, resonant seasonal tones reflect the earth and the sky at twilight. Every design element is intentional, echoing the motion of ascent and the groundedness of heritage.

It represents not just play, but a foundational moment of aspiration, the first courageous act of sending a piece of yourself, your imagination, into the world. It’s this interplay, between the ethereal dream and the tangible, handmade object, that gives the collection its unique emotional weight “The kite has long been our emblem of movement,” says Barimah A. Debrah. “This collection explores what we cannot see, the forces that carry us, the stories that shape us, and the freedom to rise in our own direction.” The collection is an ode to those who understand they are simultaneously guided and free, tethered and soaring.
Featuring pieces that embody release and self-determination, “Strings of Freedom” is designed for the modern individual whose identity is both rooted and in motion. It reflects the courage to dream and the subtle strength of knowing one’s origin while charting a personal course forward. Ultimately, the collection was designed with a specific spirit in mind: the global citizen whose sense of home is internal, not geographical. This collection provides the aesthetic language for that state of being. It offers the deep, comforting tones of heritage and the elegant, unrestrained lines of forward motion. It is for the person whose style is a compass, pointing always toward both memory and possibility.

The launch of this collection marks a significant moment for Yellow Studio, solidifying its role not just as a fashion house but as a storyteller of the African diaspora experience. By turning a shared cultural memory into a contemporary sartorial statement, they create pieces that are both conversation starters and personal armor. The collection, launched on December 9, 2025, and went beyond fashion to become a narrative; a wearable story of resilience and aspiration.
