Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.
1. Anaiis – Deus Deus
One of the smoothest records released this year. Anaiis’ entrancing vocals paired with the drums and bass guitar is just so infectious, almost giving you a psychedelic trip from the start to the end of the song.
2. Amaria BB – Bonjour
Such a bop! The hook and chorus is so infectious you can’t help but dance and sing along to it.
3. Oscar Mbo & Jazzworx ft. Thukuthela – Vuka
This record is so masterfully made. A bop with a spiritual feel to it. One minute you are on your feet grooving, the next minute, your eyes are closed just basking in the beautiful vocals on the record.
4. Debbie – Midnight Calls
Debbie sings about the lonely hours of the night when all the thoughts we repressed during the busy hours of the day come bursting out. How do you navigate all the unanswered questions and calls? With the strength andvulnerability that requires to move on.
5. Busy Twist & Ghetto Kumbé – Candela
The rich Latin sound of South America! Busy Twist production a great record with one of the most electrifying groups from the Columbia.
6. Samthing Soweto – Deda
Let the rich yet sombre vocals, melodies and harmonies on this record just take you on an introspective trip filled with sonic marvels and splendors.
7. Mavo ft Wave$tar – Escaladizzy
Mavo is having a great run this year. With multiple bangers and the release of his album, “Kilometer”, he is on a great pace to produce a generational run. His latest track “Escaladizzy” is a great bop, solidifying his consistency in delivering hit records.
8. Nomakhosini & Aymos – Umusa
A record perfect for your everyday playlists. Nomakhosini’s vocals are so hypnotic making this track a great way to start your morning or drive back from that stressful long hours from work.
9. Foggieraw – Nefertiti
Foggieraw’s unique flow makes all his records easily stand out in a Spotify shuffle. He had some catchy bars and phrases that had me echoing them all weekend. “Let’s go back to the Islands of Waikiki” is definitely this writer’s favorite line from the song.
10. BabyDaiz & Kvng Vinci – Allez Tobina
This record has had this writer dancing all weekend. Definitely deserves a slot on your summer groove or pregame playlists.
