On Rotation: Songs You Need In Your Life This Week

Every week, the iMullar staff rounds up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, thus forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.

1. Dice Ailes – Towa

Dife Ailes is in his lover boy era. On this record, he has an unwavering faith in the loyalty and commitment of his lover. A record for all the lover boys in loving and committed relationships.

2. Efezino – TOXIC

Efezino speaks in the first person perspective of a lover in a toxic relationship. The confusion in affections and the manipulations that leave you in the constant dilemma of whether the love is worth it or not.

3. Artwork Sounds feat. Kabza De Small & Stakev – Praise

One of the most beautiful, melodic and spiritual sounds that I have had the pleasure to listen to. The Amapiano log dums keeps you active while the melodies keep you centred.

4. Hanna – can’t stop

Hanna speaks about the paradox of life. Outside voices and opinions that try to define our actions and the inner struggle everyday to live up to that expectation or just take a step back and let things lay out out however. The singer how has a personal goal to see what’s at the end of whatever path they’re on.

5. Gabzy – 30 Degrees

We experience a different side of Gabzy on this record. He pumps the brakes on this one, leaving us to experience a deeper and soulful side of him. The production is made in a way that his vocals are prominently featured and emotive enough that we feel his message through the song.

6. BADBADNOTGOOD, V.C.R – Found A Light (Beale Street)

There are records that feel like passport stamps. They transport into the country/place of the music, making you experience the sounds oand culture as if you were there in person. This record is one of those to me.

7. We Are Nubia – DND Ft Zaituni Wambui

The duo have perfected the art of syncing their vocals to create ethereal sounds and melodies that just centers and entrance their listeners. The harmonies, vocals and melodies on this record, “DND” is just a little taste of the range of their talent and artistry.

8. Lady Zamar – russian roulette

Lady Zamar is smitten. She is ready to play the game of chance and risk it all to enter the next step of the relationship she finds herself in

9. Kivumbi King – MAMA ft Mike Kayihura

Mother’s Day is everyday when you truly love and appreciate the women that birthed and nurtured you. This record is an homage to the artists’ mothers, extending to all listeners and mothers worldwide.

10. Wizard Chan & The Town criers – Journey

A spiritual anthem for all navigating life with the guidance of their creators and the helpers placed on Earth to assist us. The “Remember Me” line that runs in the majority of the song is a message to the people we encounter, to recount our experiences while we are here and even when we are no more.
