BADYOUTH has shared a new song titled Not For Free. It’s his first release two years after Ginger & Sauce, and Water. Produced by Jesse Ray, there’s never any doubt that each percussive element and textural glint has landed precisely where intended, allowing BADYOUTH to sing about the harsh realities of life and what it comes with.
Sonically, there’s nothing about the song that feels unexpected. It’s a bustling concoction of fuzz-speckled riffs, Afro rhythms, sweet harmonies, tart hooks, and spectral keyboards, the kinds of Afro-Pop that shy away from mainstream themes.

Born Kelechi Uche-Dike, The Nigerian songwriter/Producer/Vocalist has always had it in him to make music, dating back to when he was seven, playing the drums and piano at church. With early influences ranging from Bob Marley, Fela Kuti, and Micheal Jackson, his music covers every element of humanity, as heard in his latest single.
BADYOUTH’s music is light on melodic and harmonic elements, which can make it a non-starter for those who require something pretty to latch onto.
