Trailblazing Nigerian singer-songwriter Tim Lyre presents the cinematic visuals for his heart-achingly vulnerable hit single ‘Confess’, the first single from his forthcoming project “Masta“.

Directed by the groundbreaking eye of Nollywood visionary Buhari Yesufu of COMEBACKHOMEWEMISSYOU, a rags-to-riches storyline plays out with Tim playing a construction worker who yearns to be recognized for his true value as a performer, battling against the daily grind, his boss and his peers to reach notoriety, all set to an industrial yet vibrant Lagos backdrop.
Having recently been tipped by TIDAL as One to Watch in 2023, Tim Lyre is on a meteoric trajectory in recent months, following his debut headline show and performance at Sofar Sounds in London in December, and with hit features like ‘Feel Something’, a fan-favorite on Show Dem Camp’s Palm Wine Music Vol. 3, as well as ‘These Days’, one of the stand-out tracks from Ejoya’s Class of ‘22 compilation.
Since its release in November, ‘Confess’, produced by Mytee Menko, has racked up rapturous support from the likes of Soundcity, Cool FM, The Beat FM, iMullar and Native Mag, garnering more than 250k streams.
The #confesschallenge has similarly racked up over 250k views on TikTok with key Nigerian influencers including @_mercy.xxx @afro__mz @kanyin_mabel @esther_raphael and @_badboywilly all tapping in.
Tim released the Deluxe version of his debut album Worry < in August last year, which has hit over 4m streams and support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Cool FM, Bandcamp (Album of the Week), Notion Magazine, Okay Africa, Breakroom Africa, Pan African Music, Bounce Radio, iMullar, and Worldwide FM.
