Every week, the iMullar staff round up ten songs we cannot stop listening to, forming the weekly list of songs known as “On Rotation.” You heard these recommendations here first. From the UK to Nigeria, each track from this week’s selections is guaranteed to be a vibe.
1. Dream – Jaynysongz
Everyone has aspirations and goals they hope to achieve in their lifetime. Jaynysongz captures the feelings and struggles he has experienced on his journey to success and his will not to give up on Dream.
2. Nubian – H.O.M.A
H.O.MA’s “Nubian” is a slow contemporary RnB song that can best be described as a soulful wavy trip.
3. Dangerous – Kofi Jamar ft. Khaligraph Jones
Kofi Jamar and Khaligraph Jones are a dynamic duo on this single. Packed with clever rap lyrics and a bass-thumping beat, this is a testament to the fact that hip-hop in Ghana is in very safe hands with this new generation of rappers. Kofi Jamar’s bridge at the end was the perfect conclusion to the track.
4. Shut Your Mouth – Siah
The flow on Shut Your Mouth is as aggressive as the name of the song. Non-stop flames from beginning to end on this 2-minute 57-second tune.
5. Desire – KAN The Greatest
Boye the Genius runs production on KAN the Greatest’s first release for this year. KAN’s vocals are clear and melodic on the slow jam.
6. LET ME DOWN – FLVME
I enjoyed the beat of this song, most especially the 55 second-long piano solo at the end of it. The hook was also a standout, showing exactly why FLVME is known as South Africa’s “Captain Hook”.
7. Kpé – SHOW SOME MOE
Something to whine your waist to. This song has a very naughty feel to it so if you are looking to update a certain very special playlist (IYKYK) this is the perfect addition.
8. Don’t Go – Superstar Yb
Superstar Yb is all about regaining the affection of his love interest on “Don’t Go”. This song is emotional and sensitive. Don’t Go is the first song on Superstar Yb’s Afro King EP released in May of this year.
9. Different Size – Burna Boy ft. Victony
Burna Boy is back again with another sampled banger. Off his newly released and highly anticipated album, “Love, Damini”, Different Size’s beat is an amapiano sample of the infamous song made popular by the Korean Netflix TV Show, Squid Game. The “All Power” singer, Victony is featured on this song as well.
10. Outside – Baaba J
The only girl featured on this week’s On Rotation (Forgive us, ladies). Outside shows the versatility of Baaba J’s music with its pop-rock-inspired beat and extremely catchy hook. This song is an absolute joy to listen to and a certified bop.
On Rotation is your weekly dose of musical geniuses to your library. Our editors update this playlist very frequently so if you see something you like, then go ahead and add it to your library.
