Also known as Mary Yeboah, Asari Music began her music journey at the age of seven in a small West African town in Techiman, Ghana. Being a curious child, she has unanswered questions about the world. When she migrated to the U.S. music was a safe space for her as she experienced discomfort being a young African immigrant trying to navigate the music scenes in the states.
Feeling unseen in a predominantly white choir in the United States, she began questioning how she could use music to encapsulate my experience as an African woman. In her senior year, Mary grew more confident and began performing at airports and community stores, to name a few.
This year, Asari Music dropped her very first single, ‘Like Dat’. No word of a lie, this song is special and deserves space on your party playlist. ‘Like Dat’ took me by surprise, I was not sure what to expect, but the song got better and better. Asari is truly talented and someone you should have on your radar.

What can we expect in the future from Asari? She shared a few words about her next goal:
“A tale of African women”. The album has 8 songs. Each one of the songs on the album has already been written by me. My challenges stem from my inability to afford studio sessions, instrumentals/beats, home studio equipment for my covers, transportation, branding, release platforms payment, artwork, and more.
The album will dive into the experience of a Black woman in the diaspora. It covers the feelings of heartbreak, feeling lost in life, being looked down upon, being true to oneself, enjoying your life, and being okay with making mistakes. The album will combine Afrobeats, R &B, and Pop while bringing a creative sound that speaks to whoever listens.”
