Each week, we accumulate a list of newly released songs that we think you should hear because music is the only universal language of peace and love. Here are some of the best releases you may have missed this week and don’t forget who put you on these sounds.
This list will be updated every day with new sounds released this week till Sunday.

Wavy The Creator – Black Card
Multi-talented creative Wavy The Creator, since taking a step back from the limelight to reconnect with herself, has returned to the rotation with two versions of her new laid back hip-hop infused single titled ‘Black Card’. ‘Black Card’ is her first release of 2020, following “3” which was released late last year, it came after her previous works, “Body Deep”, “H.I.G.H” and “Shaku” back in 2018-2019. The Multidimensional artist commemorates her return to the scene as she navigates seamlessly through DJ Breezy’s production on ‘Black Card’ while carrying this same energy on the second version produced by LMBSKN track-assisted Psycho YP, together the tetrad was able to bring a smooth head-bobbing vibe.

J Derobie – Riches
Over the weekend, J Derobie won the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Dancehall Song Of The Year with his hit song “Poverty”. To celebrate his wins, he released a new song produced by MOG titled “Riches” to send a message of hope to the ghetto youth. A year ago J Derobie’s breakout song was ‘Poverty’, a year after his singing about ‘Riches’, it can only be hard work, discipline and Jah’s blessings.
Jay Manney featuring Daizy – For You
“For You” is a love song written by Jay Manney, it’s a soothing record expressing love in a broad sense. We all fall in love but are we prepared for the sacrifice? The 3-minute song produced by TNIA Beatz and Rayn4allbeats with accompanying vocals by Daizy tells us a beautiful love story.
The Akwaboahs – Awerekyekyere
Akwaboah Jnr and his father Akwaboah Snr (The Akwaboahs) teamed up for a rendition of “Awrekyekyere” originally composed and performed by Akwaboah Snr. The song speaks on hopelessly falling in love with your significant other, seeking comfort and not receiving the same love in return. The track is recorded in a live version style giving us all sorts of nostalgic feels and we hope you enjoy this as much as we do.
Mark Asari – Blessed
On Asari’s latest release “Blessed”, the artiste celebrates his undeniable privileges and makes known these privileges are not the product of material possessions, but products of the simpler things life has to offer: life itself, good health and above all, trusting the one in control – God. He backs the above with lyrics like: “I don’t need the cars or to be a superstar, ’m blessed”, “I’m blessed to be in your company” and “I don’t need to win lotto nor ride around in fine motos. No”. Like every Mark Asari song out there, fans can expect great beat selection and mesmerising vocals on his new entry, ‘Blessed’.
Ice Prince featuring Tekno – Make up Your Mind
Award-winning artiste Ice Prince drops a fresh single titled “Make up Your Mind” featuring singer-songwriter-producer Tekno. The single is Ice Prince’s first debut release under 300 Entertainment management. The superstar label is home to some of Hip-Hop’s chart-topping artists such as Young Thug, Megan thee Stallion, Gunna etc. Produced by Stunna, “Make up Your Mind” is a sultry single that discusses a fleeing love. This is not the first time Ice Prince and Tekno have collaborated following their hit “Boss”. With colourful visuals directed by T.G. Omori, the accompanying music video showcases the effortless chemistry between Ice Prince and Tekno reminiscent of Diddy and Mase in the ’90s.
Kwame Yesu featuring Copta – Bam
ReBo Tribe’s very own Kwame Yesu teams up with Copta on “BAM” a fun trappy hip-hop joint . The track offers decent bars by both rappers detailing conservations about their muses, their work ethic and more. Both parties give off a no nonsense performance and vibe looking forward to better times. Kwame Yesu labels his new song as a game-changer. He explains: “I am super hyped for this new joint. I think I’m ready for the world.”
Elzo Jamdong – Bad Boy
Senegalese rap star Elzo Jamdong sings for the bad boys in his new single “Bad Boy”. In this song, Elzo plays the bad boy role doing all the bad things and he definitely pays for his bad boys deeds. Bra Purple featuring Kwame Yesu – Flees
Having money, they say, is one of the top priorities as a man. On a midtempo Latin-esque inspired trap production, ,these young artistes shed light on how they navigate and survive these expectations. “FLEES” as elucidated by Brapurple means “ever readiness or looking sharp”. The same sharpness can be found in the vision of grinding and hustle that these rappers paint effortlessly with their lyrics. Listeners will find themselves hitting repeat, never wanting the music to end.
Black Sheriff – Destiny
“Destiny” by Black Sherif” is a soothing hip-hop song with Alte feels. Blacko sings about the struggles and dark times he’s been through since his previous song went viral and amassed numbers on major streaming platforms. He certainly wasn’t prepared for all of it he shares but “Destiny” allows him the space to reminisce and offload his mind.
Bra Koffy – Mo Ali
Months after releasing “Pray For Me”, Koffy comes through with a new freestyle “Mo Ali”. The rapper showcases his rap skills from the flow to wordplay to lyrics on a beat produced by German-based Ghanaian producer MadebyLali.
Darkovibes – Dead Friends
After receiving a lot of heat from fans back in March over his live performance of “Dead Friends” on Tim Westwood’s Capital Xtra show, Darkovibes sets the record straight. The song is a clever nod to Darko’s past appearance coupled with some mood and cultural references over a Altra Nova production.
VanJess – Come Over
“Come Over” by VanJess will put anyone in a sexy mood . The R&B/Soul song touches on intimacy and wanting to spend time together with your lover.
Ladipoe featuring Joeboy – Yoruba Samurai
On this new single, Ladipoe enlists Joeboy on a classic love story called “Yoruba Samurai” where the two promise to go to war for their type in this life or the next. Real love is undoubtedly rare and finding your perfect match is almost impossible “Yoruba Samurai” captures the powerful driving feeling of wanting to protect it.
Nsik Ak featuring Show Dem Camp & The Cavemen – Dance For Me

Kwesi Arthur – This Is Not The Tape, Sorry For The Wait II
Reigning VGMA rapper, Kwesi Arthur went on a music hiatus for about 4 months. Fans speculated about his early retirement and expressed their worries about the dry spell. In response, Kwesi Arthur replicates his 2019 “This is not the tape, sorry for the wait” on the road to his highly anticipated project ‘Son Of Jacob’. On Sorry for the Wait II, the 3 track tape features legendary Tema rapper Sarkodie on “Jehovah” and productions by hot upcoming producers like Yung Demz on “Turn on the Lights”. Adored by his fans, Kwesi Arthur gives back to his eager supporters with this tape to hold us down till the release of his latest project and we are not complaining.

Navy Kenzo – Story of The Mob
Navy Kenzo is a Tanzanian music/dance group consisting of Aika (female: rapper/singer) and Nahreel (male: singer/producer). Their second album “Story Of The Mob” fuses Afrobeats, Rap, Dancehall and Afro-Pop into a 12-track album that has all the vibes you need this weekend. With guest features from Mugeez, MzVee King Promise, Nandy, Tiggs Da Author, The Great Eddy and Ginius Jini giving the project an overall great African feel. Every song on this album has the potential to have you dancing throughout, Enjoy.

Manu Worldstar – Molimo
After weeks of dropping hit singles and keeping fans in anticipation, Manu Worldstar finally releases his debut album “Molimo” which means ‘My Spirit’ in Lingala (a Bantu language spoken in some parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo). On this album, Manu speaks on his life values, love, dealing with the pressures of life whilst hoping for a brighter future, perseverance, survival amongst other themes. With ‘Celebrate’ as track 1 and ‘Fire Emoji’ as the last song on the album and features from some of Africa’s best, “Molimo” has a message in every song and we hope every song resonates with you one way or another.

Kobby Salm – In The Midst Of Comfort (ITMOC)
Ghanaian urban gospel musician Kobby Salm’s new album “ITMOC” is a 20-song album that speaks on the issues of life and his yearning for comfort. When asked what inspired this album, Kobby shares, “I was searching for love after losing my mum but all attempts proved futile so I decided to occupy myself with things that will make me comfortable like video games, movies… One dawn I woke up not feeling any of these things so I decided to pray, after praying I had this conviction to look around and realised that I was “IN THE MIDST OF COMFORT” yet I wasn’t feeling the comfort, the kind of comfort I want, only God can satisfy.” To anyone going through any kind of situation, we pray God comforts you through this album.

Dieslow – Getting Addicted To Dieslow
“Getting Addicted to Dieslow” (GATDS) is a collaborative mixtape by Michael Kelly and Jason Simpson, the two leading members of the Deadbeat Conglomerate. The project chronicles their adventures and exploits since they met in the second half of 2019. Themes explored on the tape include mental health, drug abuse, toxic masculinity, the ills of the entertainment industry, social media culture as well as the daily struggle between God and the devil within. The project features an evolved and more relaxed and playful variant of the group’s main producer Dieslow’s menacing and ambient infused sound.
