This time, the legendary producer finds himself serving up soft vocals in his new single ‘Take It’. As a singer and producer Kayso is an all-rounder and in his latest single, the talented star finds himself swooning to a love interest who’s playing hard to get.
Speaking on the inspirations behind the single, Kayso shares what many of us have been thinking and feeling about the current state of the world, ‘It’s kind of dark you know, I wanted to release this song to help take that stress away and get lost in the things that make us human’. Kayso is a Cancer he shares, so everything he does is done with feelings. Whether it’s Kayso the producer laying down the best beats to help fellow colleagues like Kidi take the African sound to the world in the hit ‘Say Cheese’ or laying down hard truths about trying to make it in Ghana in his own song ‘Money’.
Though the producer tends to create high tempo electronic/hip-hop afrobeat productions, Kayso the singer on ‘Take It’ takes his time on the mid-tempo afrobeat production to pursue his love and call out to her ‘don’t run from a brotherman’. The emotive love song is not unusual for the star going off previous similar releases such as ‘Abena’. Kayso the singer wants to embrace all the feelings of the human experience from love, to heartbreak to the struggle of making it and making great music to help us navigate it all with him.
The star after coming to terms with the industry slowdown is currently staying indoors, revisiting his musical inspirations, and working on perfecting his craft and his newest EP and we can’t wait to see where Kayso the multifaceted artiste takes us next.
